Wellington Phoenix 1- 1 Adelaide United

WTF happened there?
Gauci by the look of it.

We’ve thrown away three points.

Furious.

How did we not win that by 2 or 3.

So many missed chances.

For as much as Goody gets on the ball he really burns it. Finishing touch needs to be better.

He was in plenty of company Today, but I'm surprised theres so little commentary about how many of Adelaide's attacks end with D'Arrigo and then the ball in the stands (or an airswing)

Wellington Phoenix 2- 1 Adelaide United

If you do not convert the chances and half chances you create you will eventually concede.

That's the equation and we saw the results.

Timotheou and Gauci made mistakes but I think this loss was created in the attacking third.

Yep that's my assessment, I think there were some 50/50 calls on their goals that could have gone different ways but we could have been up 4-0 easily and it shouldn't have mattered.

Missed opportunities.

Carl Veart's sub game leaves a lot to be desired for me.

Oh well, all the top teams dropped points this weekend so we're still up there.

And Timotheou costs us another goal. Absolute donkey.

He is the perfect example of why it’s stupid to hype up players after they play a couple of games in Europe.
Every game he plays he makes a mistake that costs us a goal, he needs to be jettisoned at seasons end. He is rubbish, id much rather play a 16 year old from our youth team then him

I think he is a known weakness too. There were too many occasions of him being caught out for it to be coincidence.

Yeah D'Arrigo playing forward does hurt us. Just never looks like scoring. Best suited to the DM role.

That said, we created enough to win two games today. More work to do but we are not far off.

When the commentators at the end were commenting on the Sotirio sub, talking about him taking up positions on the right (Adelaide's left) and speculating it was to keep Cavallo back. I was screaming at the TV that he was standing there because that's where Timotheou was.

Like I said beforehand - I would have been very happy with a one all. We should have been 4 - 0 up at the half but our finishing was woeful. We were irresistible in the build ups and then far too casual in the final third.

Maybe this is the kick up the bottle and glass that the forwards need.
