I just voted for the RAA player of the match and selected Delianov... In a 0-4 drubbing.

I think that speaks volumes

The Aloisi brothers would match the current owners ambitions of mediocrity.

The anti football of the aloisi brothers will surely establish us as wooden spoon winners for a long reign

I dread to see our crowd attendance for the upcoming mariners game, fans are going to start booing this team soon

Surely its time to blood some of our young centrebacks, we have neglected centreback for years. Elsey is error prone, Jakobsen is that plus injury prone

I am trying to think of a game where we played worse.

Does united only do press conferences after wins? As a member I have recieved zilch or seen Carl’s explanation of the sh#ts@ow anywhere. Pretty average.

Not sure I can be bothered attending ccm and reckon WU will be moved the following Wednesday. Easy to lose interest the way we are playing and with constant uncertainty

Press conference is normally up on fox sports website, an excerpt is shown on the United website

Thanks for posting that.
Well from that:
We are not too inexperienced in defence
We had 5 on the bench coz that is all we have, we “don’t have that luxury”
We are playing well, but just conceding heaps of goals
We can match it with the best (but have beat two of the worst only)

Yeah we got problems. It sounds like a development team coach without much idea at this level, not a team playing in the top professional division which is supposed to be cut throat. Tbh, I am understanding why Troisi bailed, could see himself wasting the final years of his career playing in a club with no ambition other than selling off kids in 1-2 years. Can also understand why people are not attending, interest from fans I know previously into AU has dropped off too and getting harder to get casuals interested. Club has been meandering aimlessly since the championship and it’s been a slow and steady decline down the table
I’d love an update from the club football director on how this is all going to be ok 🤣

Don't expect to see too much negativity in pressers from Veart. Verbeek calling out players post match was not received well last season and the club made a point about it at one of the members forums (before they embarked on a worldwide search for a new head coach, leaving no stone unturned).

It'd be easy for the club to blame the pandemic on our current situation.... so they will.

Im still perplexed that Marrone isn't playing or even on the bench. What was the average age of our bench? 18-19?

I can't see a short term fix at the moment, we need 2 players at least after Goodwin arrives and can we find them in Australia? Probably not, add another 2 weeks quarantine + 2 weeks minimum to get them fit.

It really does frustrate me that when I went to the members forum last season, the club were more interested in spruiking their new generic buzzword mission statement rather than signing at least 1 player for every position. This has been a problem for a couple of years now.

You make another good point there, buzzwords. It does appear the club is more interested in politics, making social statements, promoting inclusiveness etc. All noble ventures, as long as you are doing it on the field.

I made a comment in the w-league a while back that the w-league squad appeared to have been better built and resourced than the mens squad. I stand by that and find it laughable that our only LB is an 18y.o. who looks like NPL would be about their level (no offence to Smith, good potential but not ready for 90 mins every week). This pisses me off too, Im not having a go at any our youngsters who all look to have potential, its just that they are being thrown to the wolves at the moment and clearly many are not ready for 90 mins as regular starters- but this is not unknown in the world of football, so WTF were our club thinking other than lets make 20/21 the cheapest squad ever.
