When does the January window close?
Usually we would allow it to close then pick up a free agent who missed out so this may be our strategy still.
I really hope we are looking for an AM. It is the single biggest hole in our squad.

Looks like Amini is still unsigned. I'd imagine he'd be high on a number of club's list. When does the January window close?

With such a young midfield I wouldn't be sad to see another (Troisi-esque) signing made. Vidosic and Mitch Nichols are two that fall into that category that the club could roll the dice on as I think there are available. As long as the club is able to put a pay when you play sort of arrangement in place.
I think though given how lucky we are to have such a normal lifestyle in Adelaide the club could use this to an advantage and really sell this to potential signings. I wonder how Javi Lopez is feeling about his choice to move here with his family?
Bruce should be making calls to desired players abroad. "Hi Tommy Rogic, how's life in the UK? Oh that bad hey, oh well sorry I can't chat. I got to go for a walk on one of Adelaide's pristine beaches as its 30 degrees today, then meet some friends for dinner at a great restaurant."
Time to Djbate!

Delianov
Marrone Elsey Jakobsen Smith
Halloran Mauk D’Arrigo Kitto
Yengi M Toure
Gauci, Abetew, Konstand, Caletti, Niyongabire, A Toure
I’d pick Abetew over Timotheou purely because he can play more positions.

The Jets for example can’t register AP until then given he signed after the cut off date.

Listening to Veart’s presser, it sounds like we’re playing 433 again with Mauk in for Juric.
So with that info, this is the side I think we’ll pick.
Delianov
Marrone Elsey Jakobsen Smith
Caletti
Mauk D’Arrigo
Halloran M Toure Kitto
Gauci, Abetew, Timotheou, Konstand, A Toure, Dukuly.
I’d rather see the likes of Konstand in for Caletti and Niyongabire instead of Dukuly but I can’t see Veart doing that.

Some big outs but some solid ins.
Mauk gives our midfield a lot more balance and drive and so does Kitto.
Marrone had a mare against Perth so hopefully he can settle better in Strain's absence.

Strain reportedly out for 5-6 weeks which hurts.
Lopez and Juric would have played if Brisbane game was a cup final. They'll be right for next game according to Veart.
Al Hassan will see game time against Brisbane as well.

From where I was sitting Halloran was more a wide midfielder in a 4-4-2 last week but hey ho.
It will be very interesting to see how Carl approaches this game. He said that he specifically asked for a fast start against Victory, no doubt to get the crowd involved and get on the front foot against a vulnerable opponent. Will it be a case of something a bit more cautious and pragmatic in an away clash against a potentially stronger team ?
With Juric missing I would like to see Halloran used as a false 9 with Mauk in an attacking centre mid role just behind him. Kitto and Mo or Pacific to provide the width with Louis and Caletti as two 6’s. Dukuly hasn’t done enough for me to get his starting spot back while Kitto was good last week.
Back four picks itself really unless George has impressed enough in training to oust anyone.
