Strain is out for 3 weeks while Lopez is out for 6.

Even without them, we still have a decent team which is a testament to our depth. Hopefully Kitto and Al Hassan will come back and it will be interesting if they slot straight into the XI or have to settle for a spot on the bench for now.

Looking at the fixture it seems this will be Perth's first game of the season??

We really should be able to take advantage of this.

Bad news about Strain who has been one of our best early and disappointing about Lopez.

Massively disapointing about Lopez! Although its pretty standard for long term players from abroad to get injured early into an A-League career not that this was a soft tissue injury.

I think Kitto starting on the RW would be good. IMO he'd offer a bit more balance and presence while Dukuly is still learning.

Would love to see Kitto and Halloran as the two starting wingers. Kitto just has that little bit extra experience at A League level. I really rate him as a winger and think him being moved to LB really hurt his potential and he's kinda been in the abyss the past season or two.

Dukuly et al to come off the bench.

This will be an unpopular opinion but Kitto isn't good enough to be a starting winger and I don't think he ever will be good enough and playing him there just blocks the development of more talented players such as Al Hassan, Pacifique and Yaya.

I think LB is where he should play given he's good going forward but also means he doesn't have to dribble past players which he sucks at. The standard of full backs in the AL is pretty ordinary so being a LB is the only way where he'll get regular game time imo.

I would play Al Hassan on the wing if he's fit enough to start. I already think he's a better footballer than Kitto and is currently ahead of our other young guns. Dukuly hasn't done anything wrong but I feel he lacks a bit of final product right now (I have no doubt he will have a good final product in a couple of years though) and Pacifique and Mo Toure looks to have made more of an impact off the bench in the last game, albeit against 10 men and currently have a better final product.

Game has been moved to Wednesday the 20th.
Any reason given.
I just had a quick look but info is scarce.
What I do know is that we meet MV three days later in Adelaide on the 23rd.

WTF?

With all players fit I'd probably rather Al Hassan on the wing as well. Generally I rather a more stable player which I view Kitto as on the wing for the majority of the game and then switch in a player like Pacifique to run at tiring defenders with 15-20 to go.

WA Premier imposed quarantine rules. Our players need a clear 14 days after being on the same pitch as Melbourne players.

Only two more sleeps and I can't wait till then lol

I saw a Channel 7 report saying Strain and Lopez could be back while Al Hassan should be back for the Victory game.

Delianov
Marrone Elsey Jakobsen Smith
Caletti
Mauk D'Arrigo
Halloran Juric Niyongabire

Oschenham, Timotheou, Kitto, Konstand, Yengi, M Toure

Edit: They won't be available.

Great news - Castro is out and a couple of other Perth regulars are looking decidedly dicey. This could be a golden opportunity for us to grab a good, solid away win at a ground where we have traditionally struggled.

After our first two games it's hard to imagine we will make any changes unless forced. Marrone to Strain the only one I'm expecting unless there are any other fitness concerns.

Castro out, Perth's first game of the season... should be a comfortable win.

But if we know anything about the A League there are absolutely no guarantees. The boys will have to be on their game to get the 3 points.

Their Premier is a dick, hope we take the 3 points and don't return there for some time.
