Feels like a loooong time since I’ve posted in a match preview thread and I can’t wait for Round 1!
Just 7 more sleeps to go.

Re: Preview: Western United v AUFC 28/12/20
What’s everyone’s predicted line up?
Given Kitto had surgery and Juric, Lopez and Al Hassan probably won’t be fit enough to start, this is what I’m expecting to see.
Delainov
Strain Elsey Jakobsen Smith
D’Arrigo
Mauk Konstand
Halloran Yengi Dukuly
Oschenham, Lopez, Caletti, A Toure, Juric
If we end up taking 7 subs over then add Timotheou and Jonny Yull to the bench.

Goodness that looks like a very green lineup. I'd probably start Marrone at one of the full back positions given his experience.
I think we might see Caletti in midfield in a 4-4-2 given the outs.
Marrone-Elsey-Jako-Strain
D'Arrigo
Caletti-Mauk-Konst
Halloran-Yengi
We really need some of those boys to get up to fitness quick smart.

What's the go with Timotheou? He's not featured in the last pre-season matches from memory? Injury?

I think he, along with a lot of our new signings, are a fair bit off match fit after being out of the game for a while. What's the go with Timotheou? He's not featured in the last pre-season matches from memory? Injury?

He was a sub in the last two so I assume he’s fine. What's the go with Timotheou? He's not featured in the last pre-season matches from memory? Injury?

Soooo.... Allocated seating in GA and even members have to pre-book and get a ticket on Ticketek. No more just rocking up and swiping your card at the turnstile.
If you want to sit with your mates it will need some prearranging.
Can't help thinking that will put a few part timers off.

The club has just advised all Gold and Platinum members that you do NOT have to book a ticket online; just turn up.
Also, apparently the new membership cards do not have the seat numbers printed on them, in the expectation that a certain pandemic would throw seating into disarray. The club has since advised that members can attend the club offices and have the seat allocation stickers placed on our cards.
That would certainly help me remember where the hell my seat was .... :-7

The electronic copy of Gold and Platinum members cards was emailed to us this week with allocated seat details too.
I could probably head to it blindfolded, but I had to think for a sec what my seat number was too.

Re: Preview: Western United v AUFC 28/12/20
I just went to the a-league.com.au webpage for the first time this season and glanced at the (blank) ladder - and saw that there are now 12 teams in the competition. With all the nonsense happening this year, I completely forgot that we have a brand new team starting: MacArthur.
It's another step on the way to the league becoming a serious player in Asia; noting, of course, that we still have a long, long way to go.

Noone is tipping us to make the top 6.
I like it when we are dismissed as a threat. With so many youngsters, i can see all teams being inconsistent

I think that we will surprise a few of the eastern states 'experts' this season. Once our new signings are up to match fitness, it will be a formidable team.
