I didn't get to see last week's game, and won't this week either. The joys of internet in the middle of the Pacific. Still, I'll be off the Equator very soon so will be able to catch the game on replay.

We are off to have a chat with Mr Fowler and his Roar side that have found a bit of form in 2020. They are playing compact though still seem short of ideas up front.

Compact could be problematic as it may restrict space for our pacey wingers if they sit deep, something that may happen given the form Halloran and Mileusnic find themselves in. Still, it is inviting McGree to do his dance through the middle and perhaps, intriguingly , Mauk will be given a chance to let Suncorp know what it is missing.

How will Georgie boy go in a crowded box? I have a sneaking suspicion he'll enjoy it.

Any news on Troisi? We may need a bit of guile in this game.

Troisi was 3 weeks away last week.

I think we'll go in unchanged. Mauk on at 60 to ruffle some feathers.

Look at the team who played Wednesday night in the charity match for indication of who won't be starting: Opseth, Marrone, Boland, Mauk.

Interestingly a Mohamed Toure scored a brace in that match. Any relation to Al Hassan?

Brook & Opseth looked very dangerous in the first half. Brook has a lot of class and I would love to see more of him on the pitch this season. Mauk & Boland in CM both fit & willing. Second half was all kids for AU. Very messy, all trying to rush the play too much, but Mohamed Toure looks quite promising!
Also - Yongbin Chen sighted on the pitch :o

Yohei Matsumoto for NPL All-Stars (Blue Eagles now, I think, ex-Campbelltown) absolutely looks A-League quality, as he has other times I've seen him. Would take up a visa spot but I hope Verbeek is keeping an eye on him.

Blackwood is now injured as well so Cooper Nunn and Mo Toure have been called up to the senior squad.

Just checked the club website and it turns out that he’s only 15 years old!

Konsta just getting some quality time and putting his stamp on games, then this.

Also, rotten luck for George who was doing the same.

Troisi proving a problem now IMO.

The highlights of the charity game.

That's terrible news about Nathan.
We wish him a swift and full recovery.

Any news on Blackwood?
I read he is also injured.

We share a border. Maybe move the game to Birdsville. The marketing team at FFA can then come up with a fancy name for it. The losing side's state gets Birdsville. Return fixtures at the other end of the track, Marree (or maybe make it Innamincka for some real home-turf advantage).

I think I'm onto something here.
