Apart from the pathetic penalty decision, we have been shit. Not sure how you can't turn up against a team you haven't lost to in 11 games and coming off a 4 game winning streak. Boggles the mind.

Adelaide United 1-2 Wellington Phoenix
Well that was disappointing.
United never really got going.

Didn't deserve to win that really.
Re: Adelaide United v Wellington Phoenix Match Day Jamboree!!!©
Weak penalty yes but we deserved to lose that regardless.
Big lessons to come from this one. So many poor performances across the park.
But it is a young squad and maintaining form is always a challenge at that age.
Wellington do not look like a bottom placed squad at all. They will take points off a lot of teams this season.

Our boys bought into the hype and got complacent which we can’t afford to do, especially against a good side like Wellington.

Yeah but they didn’t deserve to be. They have been very unlucky in a few of their other games.Weren't they bottom of the league for like, all season, up until today?Agree with all of this.Weak penalty yes but we deserved to lose that regardless.

Like I said ... today we would find out if we were a good side that were playing a little ahead of ourselves, or a truly great time that was a genuine premiership threat. Wellington were always a much, much better side than their ladder position showed.
Yes, the penalty was a joke and their player - Cacace? - should have been booked for diving, but regardless, we did not deserve to win. If we play as badly as that against City or Sadney, then they will thump us.
Time to reflect, regroup and get ready for Newcastle, who are a lesser side than Wellington.

Game was shit, ref was shit, we were shit, Welly were shit, weather was shit, crowd was shit, coaching was shit, subs were shit. All up....shit.
Should have stayed home.
Points for trying to Marrone, Jakobsen and D'Arrigo. Maybe Strain. Everyone else...shit.
Hasn't been a game as bad as that for eighteen months or so but we can all remember that we used to play like that regularly so...let's pretend it didn't happen and come back next week.
I don't love football tonight. Except that West Ham won, so there's a silver lining.
