AUFC vs Sadney - preview

Postby RedTide Mon Oct 07, 2019 7:19 pm

Noone else has started a preview, so ....

I'm tipping us, as I think we will be slight favourites. Sadney has a couple of big outs and we have momentum from the FFA Cup. (It sounds odd to talk about momentum for Rd 1, but there we are).

I hope that Gertjan continues with a 4-3-3 and I think that Sadney will arrive over-confident (as they always do) and underdone.

Us by two goals.

I’m tipping a draw.

I think we’ll be the better side and Sydney will equalise against the run of play in the last 10-15 mins.

Very big test first up. I think they have one of the best squads on paper so it will be challenging.

There will be a few goals I reckon. Would be happy with a draw.

Will be VERY interested to see how we line up.

Im tipping we will play a little deep and on the counter, with our attacking mid weeks away we are lacking the quality in the midfield to control the tempo against the biggest club in the land

I'm now an Aussie expat living in London. Any Reds fans in the same boat? Would be good to have a partner in crime to watch the game with! First season in 10 I won't be a ticketed member!

Oooh, you're closer to me than you are to Hindmarsh!

What are you up to in London?

Could have a potent bench if they pull the trigger on Troisi.

Part of me thinks he won't play until the Cup final.

Will miss this game sadly ironically I'll be in NSW this weekend. They're a strong side and I worry about us in defence. Will take a bench.

Troisi cant play in the cup final unfortunately, not eligible

Too early anyway. For that 'X' factor off the bench in a cup situation there is a lot to be offered by kids with talent who have a lot to prove. Safe and steady is for the league.

This sounds worrying.
