Our new captain deserves his own thread.
Congrats Jako!

Re: Michael Jakobsen
Good choice. I tend to find dependable defensive types make the best captains.
Early this morning I watched Union Berlin v Eintracht Frankfurt with Hasebe as Captain for Eintracht. He was playing in the centre of a back three and was a true example of the on-field structural difference this type of Captain can make. Cleaned up by his keeper in the last couple of seconds (hip and shoulder to the temple) and looked out for the count as everyone was shaking the refs hand. Tough work being a captain in Germany!

Very happy with this choice. Competent and experienced. One of the few guaranteed starters in our team IMO.

Yeah probably the only way we could have gone to be honest, however it's still a good choice.
Came to the club as a leader, and proved it when he was on the pitch.

Re: Michael Jakobsen
Anyone doing 105 kph on a suburban street is an idiot for doing it.
Having said that, why report that it was close to a school when on 15 January it was school holidays? (Except for the obvious media need to make things appear worse than they are, even when like in this case they're really bad anyway.)
My guess is that he's been late for training and been speeding along Main North Road (80 kph limit) and didn't reduce speed when he turned onto Fairfield Road (where the training base is). Idiot.
(If that's what happened then the school is one km further along the road and he wouldn't have been anywhere near it.)

Re: Michael Jakobsen
Probably the first and last time Jako will be described as being "fast"
Seriously though, you don't expect this sort of behaviour from a senior member of the squad. The club should fine him too, and send him on a driving tuition course or something.
