Penalties are a lottery. They missed plenty too.

No one at fault.

Neither team deserves to lose that game.

Makes me wonder why we are getting rid of Kurz. What a performance.
He’s German. Owners are Dutch.

We are aussies. Cmon Reds.

Gutted but proud.

What I don't like now though, is our players tweeting about the coin toss. Looks like sour grapes.

I think it's fair to ask the question, it doesn't change the outcome but it does point out a serious flaw in the game in Australia. TV viewing is more important than the game itself.
“The decision was done by the FFA and not from the referee,” said Kurz, after his final game in charge before exiting the club.
“That’s disgusting. Normally you throw a coin.
“(An) FFA person came down and said “this side” (of the ground).
“That was the decision and it’s not fair.
“That means not that we are not a good loser by the way.
“Perth congratulations, they were better in the shootout, but we have to discuss why (and) what is the reason.
“It’s a clear rule, but maybe FFA makes the rule.
“I’m a fair sportsman, but that has nothing to do with sport.”
The result may have been exactly the same but FFA intervention that could affect the outcome of the game is, as Marco said, disgusting.

Im not bothered about the coin toss in context of the result.

In the context of the league however its a perfect example why the league needs to be independent, it really does lend to feeling manufactured rather than organic

I think it was fair to ask the question, but it's best to tweet once the emotion goes out of it. FWIW I like what Kurz said.

The FFA make things up as they go, the fact Fox made the call tells you everything.

I actually think the ref should always put the penalties in front of the home support.
They should only toss a coin if it's a neutral venue.

Now I understand why Marco Kurz reacted so angrily when the TV cameras came close to the huddle just before the penalties began.
I was watching on a German station and the issue with the "coin toss" was not picked up.

No bugger them, why should he wait to make his feelings known?
Wait for what?

Marco Kurz speaks.

Lol that was classic Kurz. Breaking out of the huddle to chase the cameraman away with that steely look of his :-x The cameraman was back peddling like his life depended on it, which it probably did.

I'm gonna miss that crazy German :(
