66' of the Perth-Welly match and I am calling it; AUFC v Melbourne City for the Elmination Final.
We are in the unusual position of having strikers who are scoring goals and have a squad that is in decent form and condition.
Melbourne City will be on a high after the Mariner's game, however so are we after the Brisbane game. I can see this being a game with lots of goals.

Ffa lose their prize melb derby on saturday night, instead they have mv playing against a team nobody even cares about.
Just a hunch... a sold out coopers saturday night may have been a better asvertisment and have better ratings than mv/nix. So now ffa lose the derby and we play the same time as the crows.

Ooh la,la!
Melbourne City at home it is!
I understand the frustration down there about the clash of codes on Sunday but surely we have enough supporters to fill Hindmarsh for the elimination final, especially against one of the Melbourne clubs.
One problem I see is a guy called Eugene.

They have the weapons to score: McGree, Maclaren, Harrison now finding form.

Has never beaten Joyce that's correct.
They've got many goal scoring threats and suddenly so do we. For mine it'll be whose defence holds up against said threat.
Eugene has denied us a win very recently, let's end him

Well I didn’t expect to be playing city. What a last round shuffle that was.
Welly will be very unhappy with the longest travel in the world for a domestic game being backed up with only a 5 day turn around! Victory in the box seat for that.
City are in form atm so this Sunday will be a hard one. Grabbing my tickets today, hoping a big crowd turns up.

Not sure why it stipulates that it is only one ticket per member.
I just bought 7 using just only one of my family membership numbers.
I'm bringing 6 people with me, if others do the same, it'll be sold out by Thursday
I'm feeling confident that we'll have close to a sell out

Team for Sunday ?
Marco has some big decisions to make with Strain returning to full fitness. The patched up defence was working well up to last week's goal fest in Brizzy.
Does he keep an unchanged team that's on a good run or Is it a case of Marrone back to RB, Galloway back to LB and Elsey back in ? That would mean a pat on the back for Kitto and "thanks for all your effort son, but you're on the bench this week" ? Or does Strain come back into the starting line up. Keep Marrone at CB where he has been pretty solid tbh ? Questions questions...
He also has choices up front now with Baba and AP fighting for the No.9 spot. George looks nailed on to play as the 10, but Jordy looks like he's been sent to the doghouse.
Midfield picks itself. Thoughts ?

I honestly don't think Baba has more than 30 mins in him. No point in starting him unfortunately. He looked pretty cooked after 15 mins last week. Hopefully he can make an impact off the bench.
Chelo officially announced his retirement from playing today. I sent the club a Facebook message asking if they are going to do anything to honor him on Sunday. Would be great for them to put together a highlights package and interview just before the game.

Well done mate; good thoughts and some kind of club acknowledgement and ceremony would be highly appropriate and very well received by the Hindmarsh faithful.I honestly don't think Baba has more than 30 mins in him. The club replied and said they were going to try their best but the FFA are the ones that organise finals match days and they can't guarantee anything.
They did put up a Facebook post though which is nice.
It's funny, I think Wellington have the better chance to beat MV than City would have but I would of preferred to face Wellington.
