Lia Isaias
Mileusnic Nathan K/Ilso Goodwin

Margus, Marrone Boland, Halloran, Thomassen. (If Jordy's not available, then one of Ilso/Nathan K.)

--------------Lia-----Konsta----------------
Halloran------Blackwood----Goodwin

Bench: Margus, Marrone, Boland, Mileusnic, Thomassen (if he's ready to hit the ground running, AP Stama if not)
Unlucky to miss out: Ilso, Stamatelopoulos, Kitto

Suddenly we have a shitload of strikers, how did this happen?
AP isn't in the squad.
And theres no way Ilso and Kitto miss the squad if fit.

Thomassen wouldnt be ready yet, and Konsta probably wont start. Lia should be a bench option at home against Brisbane.

Ilso would surely be on the bench until Jordy's available but I can't see Kitto making it. There's no point in having 2 wingers on a 5 man bench when we have close to a fully fit squad.

Sorry didn't realise that AP wasn't in the squad.
Konsta is a much better option than Ilso if we're trying to outplay an inferior opposition at home, and Lia has barely put a foot wrong all season. (Still think Ilso is best as a battering ram off the bench) .
Kitto's advantage is that he's a bit more versatile than Mileusnic in that he can play centrally if required.

I think its time to close the book in Ilso.

As a cf he was a good option but certainly not a match winner.

As a mid that pushed up as a second striker i feel like we needed more, halloran would be a much better option in this role particularly given milesunics form out wide.

I feel Boland will be a massive in when fit. His quality and physical ability gives isaias so much more opportunity to do his thing and pull the strings deep in the midfield.

Lia is an extremely negative option, and we shouldn't be looking to negate opposition as bad as the Roar at home. Away from home sure.

We have plenty of attacking options we could play instead.

How is Lia a negative option if his defensive work allows our 2 other mids ( predominantly ) isaias more time to set up play?

Just because a player is defensive minded does not automatically mean their inclusion in the team is a result of a defensive mindset.

Even military fighter jets have armour.

Bu the same token it does not mean his inclusion is attack minded either.

Surely he is just a piece of a much larger puzzle

He provides very little in either sense, and is just a walking foul waiting to happen.

Surely at home we can be more proactive and theres no need for him. Isa will be the same regardless of who is next to him. Vinnie has served his purpose, and has done some good things last year and early this..... but it's time to mix things up while we have the opportunity to do so.

Halloran has been spotted in a moon boot. As of typing, the whole team are at Next Gen Fitness (next to Adelaide Oval).
