Don't know what's more surprising . Us beating the scum or us winning with Evans in charge.

Kurz on Isaias when asked how happy he is to have a player like him in the team ...
I'm happy with him but more happy when he does not dribble in the 18yard box ...

Love it.
That scared the hell out of me too!

That first half was a thing of beauty.

They fought back as we knew they would, but we still created chances. When we get a real quality striker we will make messes of many teams.

Looking at the coming games for AU and rivals. This was a massive win.
Melb City are now only a point ahead, but they have a game in hand which is CCM away. They then play Brissy at home. So keeping ground on them is important.
Nix play CCM after that so keeping close to them is equally important.
But obviously the biggest result needed is AU's next game away to Sydney!

Le Fondre just hit a bomb but that aside they look ordinary

We dominated and could (should) have had a couple more, but Melbourne were bog ordinary last night, just didn't get out of second gear. Partly that was because the high press stifled them but I still expected them to make it much tougher.
For all the talk of them missing Honda and Niedermeier, we've been without Boland and Baba pretty much all season.
Many positives for us, especially the hard-running front 3, Aussie Isa at his magisterial best .. and Blackwood looked very good (& hungry) when he came on. Wasn't shrinking away from the task at all.

Oh, and Melbourne's two best players were Adelaide boys

Man, I enjoyed that last night. Honestly, this is the first season I've ever found it all a bit stale. I guess its a combination of a pragmatic manager, lack of genuine striker, same faces from the same opposition...its all felt a bit meh.

But that was fun. Result aside, it was attacking football with intent and a great atmosphere. Long may it continue.

And I love Ben Halloran. Can't see any individual stats around, but his workrate, distance covered and number of sprints has been impressive all season.

I thought Troisi was pretty poor (though admittedly once he and Toivonen went off I felt a lot more comfortable). Apart from Elvis is there another Adelaide boy I'm missing?

Was a fun night, just wish we'd won by more!

Nah I meant Elvis & Troisi.
Taking some liberty by claiming Troisi was in their top 2, (probably Broxham was their best) but Troisi probably saw more of the ball than most of their players.
Toivanen was totally absent and Barbarouses was closed down really well by Galloway.

Most fun I've had at a game probably since the FFA Cup final.

Hehe ok. We did a pretty good job of shutting all their threats down so you're not being ridiculous with that claim.

Reading the filth's own forums, they are finally realising how dependent they are on Honda to make things happen for them. There were plenty of passengers in dark blue last night and their fans are beginning to realise that they are not so good as their ladder position would suggest; I suspect that they will start dropping games quite regularly from now on.

For us, on the other hand, we have Boland and - ahem - Baba to come back and a squad that is fighting to get on to the park. I can't see any team in the league looking forward to coming to Hindmarsh now.

I'm really happy with the result and hate being a wet blanket but I'll say it anyway, I thought we were pretty scrappy last night.

We were pretty well absent in midfield and apart from his goal (which was a great individual effort) I still think Ilso is the worst player on the field.

The result and atmosphere were amazing, but I didn't think that performance was any better than the Welly one last week. The main difference being we scored, twice.

Nevertheless, a win against the rivals was a huge result for us.

One thing I will say though, is how humorous it is to see Troisi fail to stand up. Bitched about not making the NT but when his team needs him he trails behind Antonis and gets schooled by Isa.
