Big match at Hindmarsh!

Ken Ilsø speaks.

Seems to be a bit of talk from club and media about ilso settling into the striker role rather than midfield.

Im still holding onto my off-season theory that Ilso was signed as our striker in the hope we could lure baba to find another club but if he stayed ilso’s experience in the midfield would also be valuable.

As long as he keeps knocking them in I'm happy... :D

The club twitter post showing Marrone's great crosses for the headed goals by Goodwin and Ilsø is wild.

And Ken Ilsø speaks about the work they have been doing for getting quality balls into the area.

It's all coming together in my opinion on all levels.

I'm a bit torn now. I was looking forward to Ilso moving into a #10 role as I really don't feel a midfield trio of Isa, Boland and Lia create enough going forward. Obviously Boland isn't in that just yet. But it appears Kurz has made a tweek to that system with Goody and Halloran coming in centrally at times to generate forward movement while Ilso drifts forward.
I think the fact Konstand was subbed on for Halloran means that this was more what AU starting line up was

........................Izzo
Marrone..Elsey..Regan..Galloway
...................Isa....Lia
Kitto.......<>....Halloran....<>...Goody
........................Ilso

<> meaning that those player rotated positions

I didn't get to watch the Nix game as closely as I would have liked so I may be wrong here though.

One thing I'm happy to see out of this system is for Kitto to receive some time centrally. Personally I think he could do really well in an advanced role centrally.

I don't think Ilso is creative at all. He's quite slow, doesn't have a very good touch and his passing is quite average. I see him as a CF or second striker at best.

Kurz is always banging on about him not being a number 9 and he would know better than me but from what I've seen he just doesn't fit the bill as a creative player at all.

Happy he's scoring but he's not a 10.

Agree that Ilso seems way more suited to CF than to the midfield.

Also, I'm dumb enough to be going to Brisbane the weekend they're playing down here.
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

There was a lot to like about Kitto's reading of the game in tight spaces against Welly.

Jako still out. Team unchanged from last week unless Marco doesn't omit the 2 youth players.

Will be having my wisdom teeth out tomorrow, so I'll likely be watching this one in a hospital room off my swollen face on anaesthetics and painkillers.

Dont worry salmy its not that bad.

After the needle all you will feel is as if your head is being squeezed in a vice. Slightly un-nerving but certainly not painful.

Best of luck
