Probably looking for that striker Marco wanted so bad.

I must admit I'm no fan of Ante, every time I hear him on radio or TV he inspires no confidence in me whatsoever. Weve still managed to find some quality but it just takes way too long.

The club needs a mini-rebuild of off field staff IMO. Whether the coach is part of it remains to be seen.
Totally agree. As a player & captain for Adelaide City he was great, as a Whatever tile he's got - not so much.
I get angry everytime I think of Tongick strutting his stuff for Brisbane.
Tomesson has shown little in the three matches and he seems to be as clueless as Blackwood as a striker

Tongyik burnt a lot of bridges when he left the first time, I would be surprised if we were even on his radar.

But we needed to find someone.

Just imagine the scenes in press conferences every day if the club were to get rid of Kurz, who Val seems to think is the second coming of Christ himself, and bring back Gombau

Gombau brings an italian marquee and italian assistant.

Val has existential crisis

Marco will be heading out the door and it's not all his own fault.

However I do have to question his selections at times. Isa at CB ?? Strain hasn't hit a decent cross in 18 months and Thomassen provided less in 84 minutes than Ilso in 10.

Give Armiento and D'Arrigo more game time now please.

I thought Piet recommended Thomassen?

Agreed for the most part, but irrespective of who’s at fault what I keep coming back to is I just don’t want to watch this turgid football. If we are gonna be mediocre I would at least like a bit of entertainment to go with it.

What the club desperately needs more than anything though is a functioning, properly staffed admin setup.

The best thing that can happen is for United to fail to make the finals. It’s such a weak target to aim for anyway. The Reds may be one of the fittest teams in the league but all that effort is going to waste. Marco can only do half the job required. Fitness, positive. Skill, negative. The body language of all the attackers, especially Goodwin, is dreadful. Where’s the inspiration? Where’s the enthusiasm? It’s the Coach’s job to build confidence, not to run the players into the ground.

Is this the way it will go?
As Adelaide United coach Marco Kurz waits to meet chairman Piet van der Pol about his future a little known Dutchman has announced he is a new coach of the Reds.

Looks like a new assistant, or a guy extracting the proverbial.

This club is all over the place.

I dunno, but the new ownership appears a bit shady to me. The fact its all secret as to who they are means none face any scrutiny if AU people are not happy.
To me it just seems that they have bought AU to use for their own interests and benefits e.g. giving little experienced coaches experience (like this article), getting crap Dutch players on loan to develop and hopefully improve to sell for a profit, buying cheap Aussies to play in Europe and make a profit.

All I know is that the chances of Kurz being here next year is about 3% and the chances of having 90% a new team yet agian is about 100%. Not impressed at all and seriously contemplating not renewing membership next season. Unfortunately many of the people I know that support AU have already dropped off in the last few seasons, its getting hard to be enthused about watching this sort of garbage unfold year after year.

We as a sporting city seem to be in a massive flat spot currently. Underperforming in both footy codes here, 36ers flatter to deceive, Thunderbirds garbage, Bite likewise.

The Lightning made it to the GF but flopped, and their future isn't overly secure beyond next year.
