Stama is back though Halloran has been busting his guts and Ilso starting to show glimpses....... who will start at the pointy end on Sunday?

Also will we persist with two defensive mids, particularly if we are short a true target man up front?

I want to see the following:

Isa-Konst
Halloran-Boland-Goody
Ilso

But in reality I don't think it will be a change to the starting 11 we saw in the FFA Cup game.

Goodwin ......ap............halloran
...................ilso........,,,,,
........Isaias......boland

Moving boland to 10 will cost us his crazy work ethic.

Happy to have AP slot right in and let everyone else play in their preferred positions.

What a great chance for him, last season he played with very little service now he would have ilso goody and halloran around him taking pressure off

Considering how much AP started in the pre-season I think this is likely. I was really happy with Marrone's out put on Tuesday so I'd say they pushed Strain to the bench.

It'll be interesting to see how much of a change AP makes to the side going forward.

(Not-so) Fun fact: Of the previous four FFA Cup winners, two followed up their win with a defeat in their next league match (City drew their next match which Sydney FC won their next match).

Not overly optimistic about our chances of physically and mentally recovering in time for this one, but it's a great chance for Stamatelopoulos to start and get his second senior goal.

I doubt Marco allowed the boys much celebration time. But I agree it would be tough to get their heads back on to this weekend compared to normal.
Could be a great excuse to change the side up slightly and give the players fighting for position like AP, Konstand and Mileusnic a start. Fresh legs could be of use as well. Although AP has been playing a lot as well. I think in Konstand's situation he'd be best to start as Lia probably needs to managed a bit more considering he couldn't string two games together last season.

Putting aside any cup win hangover, I think we'll have to improve markedly on our first two league performances to get anything out of this match. CCM are no bunnies at the moment.

I think we are cutting our selves short.

SFC have been nothing but clinical against all other clubs they have played this season. We matched them twice in as many weeks all without a striker.

Agree though ccm are no bunnies this year, they have some quality.

The 5 day break should be plenty for our young squad and Ilso only played 30 minutes so he should plug right in.

We need 3 points or the pressure will mount

It's round 3. We don't NEED 3 points until about round 9. 😉

Didn't mean it to sound harsh, we're not terrible. Just IMO we're hard to beat at the moment rather than a team that I think should win.

In the pre-Kurz era you could see we were creating a lot of golden chances but wasting them. I was confident it'd click one day but now we're creating far fewer and without a clinical striker we're in trouble. Can't expect Goodwin to do what he did in the cup final every week.

Anyway looking forward to the match B)

I'd put Milu in for Stama I have a good feeling he'll be scoring this season.
