Jakobsen has looked solid as **** other than that. Elsey still makes schoolboy errors too.

We are good 90% of the time but our bad is super super bad

Unintentional but moss missed the ball and hit blackwood.

You just cant go all in, miss the ball and connect with your opponent without sanction

Somehow var and the ref concluded blackwood pushed the defender.
Kurz seems to be hell bent on finding a conspiracy between VAR and Evans. There's no conspiracy Evans is just a moron. We'd be just as well off having a race horse referee the game. The bloke has blinkers on the entire time.
Time to Djbate!

Defender obstructs striker's run in the box without playing for the ball.
Keeper (unobstructed) jumps for ball and misses it then collides with striker who was trying to jump over the obstructing defender. Takes striker out and breaks his shoulder.
In melee headbutt happens - by defender's teammate.
Result?
Free kick to keeper. Two yellow cards for striker's team. One for defender and goalkeeper's team.
Just another week in the A-League. I wonder why crowds are down to 7000?

Yes, it was two players running at the ball. But elsewhere on the field if you miss the ball and injure your opponent in doing so it's a foul. In the box it's a penalty. Add the deliberate obstruction and....well....obviously it's nothing worth troubling the ref about.

All that being said, the game was dreary and we were rubbish tonight apart from that beautiful cross and header. I have never seen so many Adelaide players tackled while trying to get past their players. We simply don't pass in midfield anymore. Halloran, Galloway and Ilso (please don't start me on Ilso - he's a Sunday footballer at best) all lost possession so many times it became a joke. And Baba's injured again? Really? It's so hard to believe.

Supporting this club is sometimes like waiting for Australian politics to improve - mind-numbingly frustrating.

I was there and enjoyed the game. Players are putting the effort in. Still some early season misunderstandings in movement/passing. Ilso and Halloran too predictable when trying to beat an opponent. Blackwood made a real difference when he came on. Real shame for him to cop such a shocking foul and bad injury.

Oh and IMO it was a penalty. I think the reason it wasn't given is that they (the league and the refs) couldn't afford another game deciding VAR controversy right now.

I agree Otto but watch the pendulum swing back as VAR rears it's ugly up over the weekend.

We are not playing Aussie rules.

Marco Kurz speaks after the game.

I think it's a car accident...

And fair enough.

First half I thought we were diabolical. Ilso in mid just didn't work. If he is to play it needs to be up front or alongside another striker - never again in midfield. And even then, I would rather Blackwood or Stama play.

Ilso has a poor touch, poor engine and overall poor attitude it seemed.

Not sure why he is out there taking up a valuable visa spot.

Agree on Ilso, has shown zilch so far and also seems a bit lazy without the ball. Waste of a visa spot to date, especially when we are crying out for a forward of some description.
1st half was so boring from AU with no edge up front. All I can say is that so far we appear to have the same issues as last year, no strikers and not much creativity or playmaker in the team.
As for Evans, the bloke has no feel for the flow of the game and no matter who is playing, always seems to be central to something that is BS. Get rid of crap referees and get some new ones in, he is not getting any better depsite being full time and more experienced. I only will say this, anywhere else you go for a ball and miss it and clean up a player its a free kick, so why not last night????

I think it's too soon to write Ilso off. I can see why you say he's got poor touch, but actually I think he's just inconsistent. There are times he receives the ball with back to goal and rolls his man nicely and is away.

Kossie and dodd said no pen on fox broadcast because it was not intentional...... i dont understand where intent is relevant?

You just know if that was honda who got taken out it would be a pen.

Also during the scuffle georgevski head butted jakobsen and only recieved a yellow for it and at no time did var intervene .

It is an absolute lottery these days what is and is not a pen and what u can be sent off for.

Shin has a point about intent.
It has nothing to do with what he wanted to do but rather what he did, which was to miss the ball and take out the attacking player.

Georgevski is an utter flog. I'd love to play on a bloke like that, would be so easy to rile him up and get him carded
