Kurz's old school training regime probably.
I've heard whispers he just runs players into the ground and doesn't have very up to date sports science guys around him who know about training loads, overtraining etc.

Sports science at the club is top notch now, we have brittle players.

If you get paid to be a sportsmen, you should work hard enough to not be sore for a season opener. Weak.
