Does anyone know what the current membership statistics are for the various A-League clubs? I just joined myself and my daughters up again for the AUFC and I'd like to know how well our club is doing re memberships, but I'd also be interested in the other clubs. I've searched online but found nothing. Anyone have any idea?

Oh right ... that was much more obvious than I expected; thanks!

We seem tobe going quite well for memberships but it would be wonderful to hit 10,000 this season.

Anecdotally, I have a few mates who were lapsed members who are getting back on board. It's good to see the positivity.

We currently are third to last, only in front of Wellington Phoenix and Central Coast Mariners. Need more to get behind the team for sure.

AU are third last, but drawing their members from the 4th smallest population. So these numbers are to be expected. If we look at the ratio of members to population the smaller cities are far better at signing up than the bigger cities and clubs. The worst clubs IMO are Sydney and City, Both those clubs probably wouldn't exist if they were based in a city the size of Newcastle.
That's not to say AU can't do better, they have.

This is where the ffa cup plays a big role, exit in rd of 32 or 16 and theres minimal fan engagement and positivity. Go on a good run into the semis and you should see some fence sitters sign up.

There are obviously lots of reasons why people do or don't become members like how the club is travelling off the pitch. Or issues for that fan at home for example.
But it would be interesting to see the figures on how club's membership numbers look based on years they have bombed out of the cup early opposed to staying involved till the start of the HAL season.
It would be great if there was a quantifiable figure to suggest staying in the cup equals this many extra members by the start of the season.

I wouldn't get too worried by the totals as much comes down to the definition of "members". Different clubs have different take-ups of restricted game and non-ticketed packages.

That's true. Didn't Port Power used to count pet memberships?!

I'm not sure if it's just us but it seems to be a cultural thing that a LOT of Adelaideans will roll up and buy a ticket at the gate.

Haha yes then complain how long the line for tickets is and that they missed the first 10 mins! :D

Some of the other clubs might, but Port never have - hence why the club many years ago had a 'low' number of members.

4 legs counts as two members!
