Game finished AU 2-1 WT in the end.

Stametelopolous (p) 37'
Armiento 86'

Galloway played the second half. Looked good, some good moments from him, good crossing too. I think we could do much worse than him to replace Garuccio. Probably not as strong a signing as Jason Davidson would have been but still a decent HAL player. Almost a 100 HAL games and he's only 23.

Tend to agree. Unless we are going to use a foreign spot to fill that position, I'm struggling to think of any decent Australian left sided players who would be realistically available to us. Though he's never really hit the heights of when he first came on the scene at Victory, he'd be a pretty handy addition to the squad.

Mileusnic is in a moon boot
That does not sound good.

Kitto playing LB again, is he genuine option or only playing there because there is no one else?

Kitto also moved to RW when Galloway came on. After HT it looked like this-

Izzo
Marrone-Elsey-Jakobsen-Galloway
Isaias
Konstandopolous-Lia
Kitto-Stametelopolous-Strain

The club said on their Facebook last week to "stay tuned for details of our next preseason game" so you'd assume there is another one before the FFA cup match.

Couldn't make it tonight. It's a shame because I'd love to see how Mirko looks.Image

Didn’t make the game tnite. Did pop by training the other day. Iiso was training away from the group doing light running work. Kept touching the hammy and stretching it out. Looks like he has a strain but nothing major. The risk of an older player, hopefully not another johan situation. All the talent but the body not up to it.

SO perhaps
Izzo
Marrone - Elsey - Jakobsen - Kitto
Isaias
Konstandopoulos - Boland
Strain - Stamatelopoulos - Goodwin

No sign of Baba or Blackwood.

Exactly right Obarizk.

Highlight for me was Goodwin, he absolutely got stuck in - he's hit the ground running back here. He linked up well with Boland (who looks like a quiet achiever) a couple of times. N Konsta killed it too.
Stama lead the line really well, he's a strong lad and his goal was well taken - came after some nice work & a cross from Lia, who played the whole 2nd half and looks fit & hungry.
Jakobsen - calm, confident (as you'd expect).
Galloway looks OK - a few nice attacking runs - I'm prepared to overlook the stench of MV (mostly cos we really really need a LB).
Some of the kids (Brook, K Konsta, Armiento, Pacifique) got a good run and looked like they fit in well.

Olympic were very good value - well drilled & contained AU well for most of the game, and had some very good attacking forays too. Their LW Mamadi Kamara stood out.

AUFC played a closed door friendly against South Adelaide on Friday night. Adelaide won 7-0.

And yes, that is Papa Babacar Diawara playing in the second half, your eyes are not playing tricks on you!

For those who can't see the video-

-23' Craig Goodwin (left foot strike from top of the box after cutting in from the RW, quality goal)
-30' AP (scored with his feet after scramble in the box from a corner)
-45' Ken Ilso (breaks through the defence to receive a cross, brings it down on his chest and volleys it into the net)
-64' Taylor Regan (headed goal from a direct corner)
-83' Ryan Kitto (gets on the end of cross as he's moving towards the goal, brings the ball down in his stride and pokes it home)
-86' Ryan Strain (breaks the offside trap, keeper comes and Strain chips/volleys the ball over the keeper into an empty net, looked to be offside)
-88' Ryan Strain (fast and low cross put across the goals and he taps in at the back post)

Very 2014 that dub step.

Wonderful to see Baba feature and to see Ilso on the scoresheet.

That is not music it is a horrid sound. The video would be so much better without any sound.
