And they would know a thing or two about the game.
Exciting times again!

I can’t get to the Tiser article behind the paywall atm, but it seems like this Dutch bloke is some guy who brought that Chinese semi pro team with Bruno Marveggio. Is that right?

This is very interesting if there is a marveggio link. IIRC he was also linked with a 3rd div italian club aswell as the chinese club.

Marveggio was at odds with the other owners who wanted him out and i believe there have been court battles?

Some of marveggios business have been in strife last year narrowly avoiding liquidation.

Totally speculating here but possibly Marveggio wanted the club more and out manouvered the rest finding new investors.

It would be great to know which clubs these guys have been involved with so we can gauge the direction they plan to take.

Bottom line we just want to know are we rich yet lol. Probably fair to say we are richer than yesterday

The important thing is that they feel we are a good investment. The SA culture, approach to football and conveyor belt of talent all feature.

The statement from AUFC is pretty poor.
European business people, who are they???

Would have thought our current owners would know exactly who are buying us, before selling .

Anyway, we might find out in the coming days.

I'm sure the previous owners do know who they are, whether they're a good judge of whether they're a good choice for us is another matter. It's purely financial for Rob Gerrard, maybe the others care a bit more.

Here's Rob's interview if you want to hear it

The amount of news coming out about this is terrible!

The only person talking about it is val.

Grif was outspoken about the ffa and club independance, it will be interesting what the new position is from the club.

Worth noting many former reds players have taken to the twitter sphere and mentioned this is a good thing, probably indicating their experience with previous management.

Don't worry about the lack of media interest out there, it's just 'par for the course' in a land where dog racing seems to get more coverage than soccer.

That the new owners are experienced football people is a huge plus.
That they have links to both Europe and Asian clubs is a huge plus.
Looking very positive so far.

One of the guys involved, Piet Van der Pol, has involvement with Qingdao Fortschritt Red Lions (a 3rd tier club based out of Qingdao, Shandong). He is part of the Euro-Asia Football Consultancy and some other related businesses. There may also be a connection with the Foundation for Women's Football in North Holland, though I can't be sure.

I am surprised there are not more details by now. Hopefully soon.

Nice work!
If only Val was that good at his research and reporting.
