LOL. Talking about the strengths and weaknesses of a performance is not defending it, particularly when I said,You say that but still defended it by saying we controlled the midfield and defence played well... against 10 men... for a whole half."I AM NOT GOING TO DEFEND THAT PERFORMANCE, IT WAS NOT GOOD ENOUGH"Brisbane had 9 players out, away from home, with ten men for a whole half. There is no excuses for losing today. Defending the loss is ridiculous.I am not going to defend that performance, it was not good enough, but it was not all bad. There was too huge mistakes by midfielders that cost goals and there was a massive lack of quality in the final third. However we controlled the midfield and the defence played very well. What are you on about? How can anyone defend that performance. Honestly.Keep it in your pants, Bruuuuuce
It is very clear where the team is lacking, the effort and discipline are there, the creativity and quality up front is missing. The team is very different to last year when there where some players (Carrusca and Elrich most notably) were not trying a lot of the time.
Did you get it this time?
Sydney would have put 5 past Brisbane in the second half in the same situation.
IT WAS NOT GOOD ENOUGH
I doubt Sydney would have put only 5 past Brisbane and they certainly would not have given up those two goals.

Chaps this thread is descending into a farce.
We lost. It’s football. It happens.

The negatives outweigh the positives in a loss like that. I don't really care about the positives after losing a game like that. A game we should be 100% winning.LOL. Dare I actually talk about football, but the individual errors like today I can cop, people make mistakes from time to time and shit happens.
What frustrates me infinitely more is how laboured and uninspired our play is with the ball. Our central midfielders seem to exist solely to shuffle the ball out wide and stand around and watch while the wingers/full backs pump the ball into the box.
Be it Baba or Blackwood, the striker constantly seems to be well behind the play and never in position to really attack the penalty spot when crosses come in (lets just ignore the fact that we dont have anyone capable of crossing anywhere near on target). Never see midfielders making runs from deep into the box and very rarely see any passing combinations where players are moving into space to receive the ball back after they pass.
Its all very turgid, and I have to assume its the way the coaching staff wants us to play because it continues each week. I appreciate we've had injuries and perhaps I'm expecting too much from the available personnel, but I'm not a huge fan of the current style.

Most definitely the negatives massively out weight the positives, but nothing wrong with identifying both of them.

I casted no aspersions to whether a circle jerk is a good or bad thing, as a concept, though I did suggest the mutual wankfest between yourself and other lower-IQ members of this forum wad indeed a negative thing.
See the logic:
- circle jerk: neutral
- circle jerk between dudes with no idea: bad
I am actually bisexual, the ‘B’ in LGBTIQ+, bit thanks for your staunch defence of gay rights
