I was furious when VAR helped us win (v Wanderers with the ridiculous Cornthwaite pen / sendoff) and I'm furious when it helps us lose. It's not football. I have been a member since 2005 but I am deadly serious when I say that if it stays - i.e. if this is the direction the league is going - then I'm out.
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

It’s definitely a conspiracy theory. But what if the FFA is trying to kill off the A-League? Get rid of those pesky club chairmen and concentrate on grass roots and Socceroos?

Sums it up really.

We are walking away from games feeling:

-pissed that we lost as a result of the refs.

-angry that we had to win DESPITE the refs

- Feel guilty that we won BECAUSE of the refs.

Just not football

Maybe make next round VAR Round and have a coordinated boycott. Not come late or leave early, just don’t go.

And FFA don’t care, so hit Fox sports on the socials and let them know.

Isaias was given a yellow in the 88th minute so probably for arguing about the penalty.

We are obviously on the wrong side of the great FFA power struggle...
The sooner the A-league splits from the FFA the better.

Adam Peacock said after the game that what we saw on Fox was not what KGJ saw in the VAR booth and he had seen a close up like we saw after the decision.

KGJ just said on the Sunday Shootout that he only saw the one angle from behind and it was not conclusive.

I obviously disagree with KGJ's conclusion but why did Peacock lie to viewers? Absolutely disgraceful from him.

Tin foil hat time-

Our chairman is the mouthpiece leading the rebellion against the FFA. Could the bad "luck" we've been having be some sort of revenge for GG trying to embarass and displace the FFA?

The A-league will never prosper with the mediocre refereeing we have in this country. I wish they were actually corrupt so they had an excuse for some of the shit they offer up, not just incompetence.

just watched replay of the 'penalty' incident, and the way the Fox Sports commentators Harper (especially) and Hill make excuses for the ref's call & VAR upholding it is disgraceful.

'can't tell from that angle'...

Referees should never give penalties unless they are 100% sure. It is much better to miss the occasional pen than to give them out incorrectly. Benefit of the doubt should always go to the defenders.

Our referees are incompetent, they make huge mistakes almost every game. I would have been unhappy but put it down to human error if the penalty was given and there was no VAR. However for KGJ to spend a tiny amount of time and look at only one angle, when we have seen them spend much longer on almost every other VAR decision, and then claim he did not have the evidence to overrule the decision is a disgrace.
For the referees to then come out after the game and defend their decision was also a disgrace especially when the story they were telling was clearly contradicted by the one angle KGJ looked at when making the decision.

It is quite obvious the Fox Sports coverage is not meant to criticise the referees or VAR and they seem at pains to say they are in favour of VAR even when they criticise it. I am not sure we are getting their real opinions. Gombau made some very sensible measured comments about VAR on the Sunday Shootout yesterday and I feel his comments should be heeded.

Brenton Speed is a joke, he said the one VAR howler on the weekend was the McGing tackle being upgraded to a red card. At least McGing laid a tackle, the ball did not even hit Strain's arm as far as I can tell.

Tthe referees seem to have very little understanding of the handball rule.

Berisha had a goal wrongly overturned last night. It hit his arm but it clearly was not deliberate under the guidelines for determining whether it was deliberate or not.

Maccarone on the other hand clearly deliberately attempted to bring the ball down in the box to score a goal which under the rules is clearly stated to be a yellow card offence but he was not given one.
