Re: Matmour gone
Hard pass on Finkler. He is super washed up.
Re: RE: Re: Matmour gone
Remember that after winning the toilet seat Bruce was trying to convince the team to stay together, but he was one of the first to take up an offer elsewhere. Not saying he's a traitor or anything, but loyalty=$$But why did Bruce leave a successful team for just one season?

Re: Matmour gone
He has played alot of football in itally as a 10Ikon is a winger. We’re in ther strange situation where we need another right sided wide player

I don't recall Bruce making any public pleas to the rest of the squad not to leave. Doesn't sound like his style and would surely contradict his role as a PFA representative, which would be more along the lines of advising players to do what's best for their career. But I stand to be corrected on that.
Perhaps you're referring to his speech after the GF when he called on the club to keep Pablo. But that was more a case of the player wanting to stay but not being an offered a new deal, if I have my facts right.

Re: Matmour gone
On Finkler- You never know with some players, new team, new environment. Players like Elrich, Boogard, Regan etc have looked like they had already peaked and were declining but then came here and played their best football. He's not old, only 32 but he may be done. Doesn't seem like he's got the stamina that Kurz seems to be striving for. If we aren't looking abroad to sign a replacement then he's not a bad option, worth a visa spot for someone who probably won't play 90 mins?

Re: Matmour gone
I don't mind it in theory, we're down a player and in terms of his style he's pretty much a like-for-like for Matmour. Would take for the rest of the season as he offers something different to the rest of the squad.
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

Re: Matmour gone
Give him a 6 month contract to let him prove he is still up for it.
However I would prefer a longer term option.

Re: Matmour gone
Im happy with finker tbh.
If he is to play matmours exact role hus work rate does not need to be high.
He is big and strong for a traditional AM which suits the aleague IMO.
Matmour played more like a striker forced into the 10 role his first instinct was to always create for himself ( not a bad thing )where as finker will first look to dish off to the front third and only if things open up will he go it alone.
Contract to end of season only, make a point of buying a quality 10 in the offseason.
Another thing to consider is taking a player from overseas will unlikely yield results as we have seen time and again there is an adjustment period for creative players in the aleague. Finkler hits the ground running.

Re: Matmour gone
I would think that Finkler is the obvious choice to replace Matmour. At least for this season.

Re: Matmour gone
Finkler wouldn't be the worst signing. He's certainly got an X-factor the club needs. But certainly lacks a consistent 90 mins. Which also isn't the end of the world as it enables someone like Konstand to keep getting decent HAL game time.
If he was happy to come here and fight for his place (meaning he doesn't crack the shits when he's benched one week) I'll be happy to see him offered the chance. I wouldn't want him on a longer contract than this season alone though.

Time to Djbate!
Re: Matmour gone
Apparently the club has ruled out Finkler. Val's latest article states he has contacted club officials and we're not interested in Finkler.
