Yep it'sa djite type and a creative attacking midfielder that's missing for me. We have no link between strikers and the midfield when we attack, mileusnic is not good enough to be starting every week.
Yep totally agree.

Our defence and middle is as good as any in the league. We just have a massive disconnect between midfield and the front third.

Crying out for a creative player.

Although it’s pretty clear Kurz is transitioning us to a 4-4-2. So with Adlung and Isa in centre mid and Kitto and Mileusnic wide mids, 2 up front means we have no number 10.

Which means Isa or Adlung have to create, which isn’t their strength.

We need good balls in the box.
We need crosses that give Baba a chance to leap and head the ball.
We need to play the ball to Baba's feet when he has back to goal. While Baba is an excellent header at goal it is not because he is a big strong player, he relies on a big leap to win headers and score goals. This means he is not going to win many headers with his back to goal and it is a stupid tactic to repeatedly expect him to compete body on body with high quality A-league defenders like Wilkinson and Buijs. If we are going to go long in the air to him it must be in a way where he can run to leap and head the ball. However the best way is to play the ball to his feet, and at times I thought Baba did some decent hold up play when this happened, albeit a long way from goal, Play to his strengths, pass to feet when he has his back to goal, cross to head when he can face goal.

I believe Absalonsen is the player who is mostly likely to be able to play to Baba's strength in the air and provide him with goal scoring opportunities. A right winger who can do the same would be a very good replacement for Matmour even if it means we lack a true number 10.

We would be silly not to ask the Cahill question. Sure hes not a like for like swap, and Djite if he's available would be preferred, but Cahill wants game time and we could give him that.

He's not number 1 on the list but who is available

Why ?? He needs gametime, we can give him gametime.

I'd prefer others, but if the salary is right he would be in the mix.

The lack of news following matmours departure has been interesting. Its been super low key.

To be fair its still the weekend though

There was a fight at the game, you know that's where the focus always goes particularly in the media.

Heard Ante on MMM yesterday, he said very little.

While I admire his ability to score goals on the field, what I think about him off the field would be better not posted. Not someone I want associated with the club, I would be extremely disappointed if he was signed.

Thats my sticking point too on the matter. I can't see him wanting to come to a town like Adelaide in any case purely down to that ego.

Have said this before regarding Cahill but someone like him would be the worst possible fit for a club like ours. Need people that are humble, team players, not people that think they're lowering themselves by playing here.
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

At this point he is in no position to think that. Current game time won't see him on the plane to Russia.

Cahill should be going to Russia, he is needed in the squad. It would be good if he played more for City but he should go anyway.
