Matmour gone
Apparently last game against SFC, as he is retiring. Homesick wife according to Val. He has been very average and wish we still had Celo tbh.
Re: Matmour gone
He’s better than Chelo but no stress if he is leaving. Has done nothing in Red so not too fussed.

Re: Matmour gone
This is interesting no doubt there is more to it as there always is.
I think its more likely he was tapped on the shoulder and asked if he wanted to go home as AUFC was presented with an exciting prospect.
Possible fringe socceroos looking for a ticket to russia? Cam or wide players.
Mcgree
Burns
Mabil
Cahill ( oh geez! Lets hope not )
Amini
Rukya
Or potentially kurz has an ace up his sleeve.

I thought he was quite reasonable tonight, much better than the cup final against Sydney when he was terrible.
Never became the player we hoped he would become so not a huge loss.

And his wife is a singer, Adelaide is surely not a great fit for her so it might be true she wants to leave.

Still a shock, this hasn't happened since...well, 2011, when Andwele Slory retired.
Rumours are that we have already been in talks with Ivan Borghello.

34 year old Argentine striker who has never been a hugely prolific goal scorer.Still a shock, this hasn't happened since...well, 2011, when Andwele Slory retired.

Not impressed after a quick look but it is always hard to tell.

Re: Matmour gone
Yeah moving to the other side of the world sounds like fun, but when kids are involved things get far more complicated.
Sad to see him go so early as we clearly didn't see the best of him on a consistent basis. I think if/when he got to full fitness he could have really set the league alight. But with older players like that you never know how far away full fitness is and a muscle injury is always more likely.
Personally I'm comfortable with AU not rushing out to replace him as has been mentioned Konstand is doing a great job for the club and I'd be more than happy to see him offer the chance to make the position his own before signings are made.
But as Shin mentioned there really shouldn't be any shortage of fringe Socceroos looking for game time so it's likely a fair few players would be getting itchy feet come the Jan transfer window.

We desperately need someone with some creativity and class in the final third. Hopefully the club can pull the right string with the next move

Good, this guy trotted around as if he'd run a marathon in the warm up.
Not a like for like but we ought to be looking at McGree on loan or Djite who i think is available.

Chelo is too injury prone now and far past his best.

Re: Matmour gone
I wonder if Brugge would be interested in loaning him back to AU given the stink the club kicked up about him going there? According to wiki he's yet to play a minute for their first team. I really question whether the move was worth it. I'd hate to see him drop off the radar.Good, this guy trotted around as if he'd run a marathon in the warm up.

One thing we should be thankful Matmour did for the club. Apparently he convinced Adlung to join!
Obviously not that this opens up a visa spot I think Kurz would be seeking out his contact in Europe so see who's interested in coming.
