No Marrone and some tired legs, however Gulum and Baba should be fighting fit as well as Ochieng who showed a bit of zing last night. I am not sure how Karim is going to pull up though. He was looking a tired lad towards the end and recovery takes longer as you get older.

Plenty of time to recover.

Would start Ochieng at RB and bring in Konstand for Matmour.

Rest of the boys should be fine.

I spoke to Absalonsen at Adelaide Airport (the senior players who didn't make the Cup Final squad were on my flight). He said he feels fine now, so I'd expect him to play against WSW.

Regan is definitely out of the moon boot as well (which, to be honest, probably happened weeks ago).

Regan doesn't matter, Elsey is playing way better than Regan has ever played, simply the superior player. Warland has been pretty good as well with the obvious exception of the occasional poor back pass including the one that cost us the goal. Regan or Warland on the bench is a bit of a toss up, Regan is the better player now, but Warland will almost certainly become a lot better player than Regan.

Absalonsen back would be HUGE, it is probably the key moment of our season. If he can forge a combination with Baba we could do anything this season.

Welcome back Ghost.

I agree that the key to our season is Absalonsen.
He is pretty well our best and most consistent crosser and finisher.

You mean our only crosser!

Guardiola scored three goals in three games near the start of last season. One of them was a penalty but the other two where headers from crosses from Garuccio. Pity he has not been able to build on that.

Would be so good

IMO we could do a lot worse than have him in Russia.

Knows the setup, knows the players, plays a good brand of football.

Not only that, Josep has that quality about him that draws people in. I think his attitude would reach a wider range of australians and ultimately be fantastic for the game.

Cant see the starting 11 changing from the cup final unless Marrone is suspended and then Ochieng comes in.

How long til Matmour is fit? Feels like he has had plenty of time.

Absalonsen? It sounds like he is almost ready for a run off the bench.

Adelaide United squad: 1.Daniel MARGUSH (gk), 4.Ben WARLAND, 7.Ryan KITTO, 8.ISAÍAS (c), 9.Baba DIAWARA, 10.Karim MATMOUR, 12.Mark OCHIENG, 14.George BLACKWOOD, 16.Nathan KONSTANDOPOULOS, 17.Nikola MILEUSNIC, 18.Lachlan BROOK, 19.Ben GARUCCIO, 20.Paul IZZO (gk), 22.Ersan GÜLÜM, 23.Jordan ELSEY, 25.Apostolos STAMATELOPOULOS, 29.Ryan STRAIN, 37.Daniel ADLUNG
**two to be omitted**

Ins: 18.Lachlan BROOK (promoted), 25.Apostolos STAMATELOPOULOS (promoted), 29.Ryan STRAIN (promoted)
Outs: 2.Michael MARRONE (suspended - 1 week)
Unavailable: 5.Taylor REGAN (ankle - 4 weeks), 6.Vince LIA (knee - 1-2 weeks), 11.Johan ABSALONSEN (thigh - 1-2 weeks), 21.Tarek ELRICH (knee - long term)
So.. I imagine we'll see same XI as the FFA Cup but with Ochieng slotting in at RB. Don't think there were any other question marks over fitness.

Baba, Blackwood, have you any goals?
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

Ochieng at RB excites me, he did very well at LB when he got his chance their last season, looked right at home. He can make an impact on the wing but I think if he is going to become a long term A-league player then it will be at full back and he might need to move to another club to do so.

Old Gregg is right to highlight a striker getting goals, we desperately need to start getting goals from what is supposed to be the main contributors. I rate Baba highly but he needs to start getting some goals now that he is back in the team. It would help if we could hit him with a few crosses. Perhaps Ochieng can do it.
