What did Vukovic get?
15 months, 6 months suspended.
On appeal 12 months, 3 months suspended.
The on another appeal the ban was split to allow him to go to the 2008 Olympics but that was then overturned by FIFA.

Rhys Williams should have been red carded but never expected anything to happen.
I doubt Berisha will get much penalty either.

The ridiculous thing is that the MRP have deemed that he has a case to answer for but the VAR said all clear. If the yellow card was in fact for shoving an official and not up-ending Elsey, what is the precedence for that yellow card?

Every season it's the same story though, the officiating isn't getting any better and the new VAR is just gratifying their mediocrity. There seems to be no concern from the FFA that sub par referees are damaging the HAL brand.

The bunnings chairs are gone but this league is still plastic unfortunately.

This is the Vukovic incident-

Anyone have any footage of the Berisha incident?

Edit-

Here is a link to the video on foxsports website

If you can get their shitty website to work.

Berisha makes contact with the referee twice in that video.
1. At the five second mark he hits Elder in the back with a reasonable amount of force.
2. At the 13 second mark he pushes Elder away.

He deserves a long ban, the rest of the season, hitting a referee and then pushing a referee just compounds it.

Also, Tiago who played for Sydney in 2013-14 got 8 weeks plus 4 more if he received any red cards in the same season. He pushed/grabbed the refs arm and knocked the red card out of the his hand as it was about to be shown to Marc Warren.

Vukovic shouldn't be used as a precedent because his punishment was outrageously over the top. Besides, the charge was different (violent conduct v unsportsmanlike conduct or whatever it's called).

I think a fair penalty for Berisha would be similar to what Amor got, 4 games or so.
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

2-4 games for Berisha would be appropriate. Surely the MRP should have addressed the Williams incident as he wasn't punished on the field of play. They can only address red card incidents, but I think that Williams did in fact deserve a red card for it.

My understanding is that the MRP can look at anything that is an obvious error.

Even though Berisha received a yellow I’m assuming it was deemed an obvious error because a yellow is not sufficient punishment for pushing an official.

Could be wrong though.

Berisha gets 2 game suspension plus 2 more if he commits another offense against an official this season.

A bit soft. I thought maybe 4 weeks, sets a bad precedent IMO.

Far too short, should have been 12 weeks minimum.

The MRP had jurisdiction to consider the incident as it escaped the Referee’s attention (as defined under the Hyundai A-League Disciplinary Regulations (the Regulations)).
How is this possible!?

The 4th official did not know he was pushed and VAR failed to notice it despite reviewing the incident all while they are all connected via the same microphone channel....

Further more, the refs confirmed the yellow was for the push on the ref to foxsports adam peacock so it WAS dealt with during the match.

As much as i want to see Beriaha banned the fact is FFA have just broken the rules to cover for their matchday officials. This actually angers me more as it shows the rules can be bent or broken to cover the FFA’s arse
