Preview: Roar vs AUFC 13-10-17

Short turnaround.

Brisbane were average against City but at home they’re a different prospect.

Regan has just been confirmed out for 10-12 weeks with an ankle injury.

Elsey will now start and Warland will likely come into the side.

Huge opportunity for Elsey.

suncorp generally has a good surface and is shielded from the weather so this is probably the first time we can see how united expect to play this season.

Big blow for Regan, but I am very confident that Elsey will do a great job alongside Gulum. Warland now has to sit on the bench.

It would be nice to find out if baba has been on the bench due to fitness or due to blackwoods form

I agree with an earlier poster saying that Baba would have likely seen minutes against Nux if it wasn’t for Regan going down.

Adlung was underdone and needed replacing (Konsta) and Johan was tiring (Kitto).

Surely the last sub would have been Baba for Blackwood and Elsey wouldn’t have been required.

Although it is still curious that a La Liga striker is warming the pine to a young Aussie.

Possibly true, just need to see what continues to happen.

I'm sorry to hear that Regan will be out for so long.
6 months preseason and then bam you miss 12 weeks of the season.
That sucks.

10:50 kick off Central European Time.

I know we still have summer time up here but have they changed the kick off times down there compared to last season?

No kick off 7pm Adelaide time. That's normal.
It was always nice that HAL was on at a civilised time in Europe. I did mostly bar work while in London and barely missed a match.

Far enough.
It's probably the daylight savings difference that is throwing me off.

Only one change from the 18 man squad - Lia in and Regan out.

Surprised no Warland - won’t have a backup CB.

Isa maybe?

Warland did not seem to be very involved in preseason matches.

Konstandopoulos ended up there in one of the early preseason games although I don't see why.

More likely Marrone can play there if really needed, he did okay in the ACL game. I would hope Ocheing makes the bench to cover RB. Maybe Ochieng in for Regan and Lia in for Konstandopoulos.

had a bit of rain the last few days here in brissy and expecting more tomorrow leading up to the kickoff. Also very humid. Will be a test for our players.

Don't like not having a backup CB on the bench.
