That second half was outstanding. I'm genuinely impressed.

Just watched the post-match on fox and they were saying that MV lost it by not converting in the first half.
They definitely had us in the first half but I didn't think they had many clear cut chances.
Second half was all us.
Smacked of East Coast bias to me.

apart from the horrible 30 minutes at the start we were easily the better team against a strong victory 11 with 3 senior players from each line who have top euro league experience missing from our 11
i wouldnt say we were good on the ball we just worked hard.
after 30 minutes we worked ourselves into the game and victory began to slow down. we were still efficiently pressing with a 3-0 lead with 5 minutes to go. the boys are fit!
the way blackwood moves and uses his body is fantastic. obviously wasted at a club like sfc last year. he is a player just like mcgree who needs to be starting!! how many more talents are wasting away out there behind top paid visa players? desperately need more games and more clubs.
its ironic blackwood has fallen into our lap now that we finally have a match winning viaa striker in baba lololol! blackwood will be in europe before seasons end

Aug 30 we find out which A-League club we are to face.
I must say I do love meeting the NPL sides just for the variety; same with the ACL.

Good that we won and the performance was much better after I stopped watching. Perhaps I should never watch. Absalonsen seems to be an excellent recruit. Hopefully Gulum and Matmour are as well.

What a performance, Victory with that team couldn't beat us with a few key players missing (Gulum, Matmour, Baba and the other foreigner we will be signing). Great to stick it to them, lets go all the way now lads! Also, Absalonsen, what an athlete. Like the look of him already, if we bring in another winger of that standard we will do very well IMO, looking like the best set of foreigners in the league.

Matmour is predominantly a winger although i assume he has been signed as our 10 so it will be interesting if we sign a mid or winger next. What a performance, Victory with that team couldn't beat us with a few key players missing (Gulum, Matmour, Baba and the other foreigner we will be signing). We potentially have a super explosive team on the counter should we play that way

Ha! We have a better record against A-League clubs. But as far as I'm concerned the Cup is over. We have beaten the minions of doom and sent the evil overlord home crying. Who needs a cup?Aug 30 we find out which A-League club we are to face.

Honest opinions, with the red-tinted glasses off.
What do you make of Muscat as a manager? He inherited a strong side, with a great foundation and a touch of Ange, added Berisha and has been reasonably successful.
But there's still a lingering doubt for me. That Victory side is full of good footballers but last night they were bossed for a good 55 mins by a side that on paper shouldn't do that.

They have the best team on paper, most resources and backroom staff in the HAL (second only to City).
They get by with structures in place set by Ange that are carried out by more than just Muscat.
He is useless but MV staff as a collective get by.
