We were shaky at times last night. Luckily we were playing newcastle but players like Berisha and Troisi don't let those mistakes go unpunished. The number 1 GK spot is still up for grabs IMO.

For Marden to work for a big crowd you'd need some additional temporary facilities (bar, toilet, food, entry gates) but I'd like to see them try! It would be an incredible atmosphere.

I would be extremely happy at Hindmarsh though, so long as we do our utmost to get as many people there as possible.
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

Beating Victory at Hindmarsh in front of 15000 or 1 person will still be as good as it always is.

Yeah more than one eftpos would probably help!
Personally I think its a waste to have it there. It will be a great atmosphere but twice as many would turn up to Hindmarsh. Plus with the huge open areas security and police are going to really have to be on top of things. There is more than enough room for a big brawl. I can really see the game turning ugly. I hope I'm wrong though.

I've heard talk that this match will only be open to members. I guess thats a good way to keep tabs on people. Plus its a sly move from the club to lure more members.

Grant Mayer said in the paper that they are considering Marden and making it a members only game. I wouldnt of thought they'd be able to do that in an FFA sanctioned match. Does that include away fans?

Game should be at coopers (could be the first and only time our new boys play there before round 1), should be on sale to the public and should be priced to sell out and entice people to become members not exclude those that cannot/choose not to be members.

Using the only time we play our biggest rivals at home at a rectangular stadium this season to leverage people to buy memberships seems like a money grab.

Game listed as Marden on the FFA Cup website. Time (TBC) but Wed 23rd looks likely.
Better get the crowd control, facilities etc in order - going to be amazing.

I'm glad Grant Mayer asked people for their opinions on Marden vs Coopers, its confirmed that it really does not matter what members/ AU fans want or think as about 9 in 10 responses wanted Coopers.
So is it members only at Marden? If so, I'll be watching on Foxtel as I won't be forced into purchasing a membership just to attend this.

Members priority period but surely will be opened up to general sale.
76 responses to Mayer on Twitter were overwhelmingly in favour of Hindmarsh but the EntCent must have whacked a big rent on for this game.
It'll be a financial decision. Only 2,500 came out to see the Jets game so they'd really be taking a big punt on Hindmarsh. I actually don't mind AU putting the foot down here if EntCent are trying to squeeze us (so long as it doesn't result in playing at Norwood lol). All for the Cup games going to smaller grounds, Brisbane hosted Melbourne at Perry Park remember!

It will open up to the public but I'm not sure tickets will be available by then - who knows.

I was one of those who voted for it to be at the 'Marsh but I am happy to have it at Marden also.

I think it's perfect for he FFA Cup.

It's a preseason game and midweek. I think a sold out Marden could be better than a half-full Hindmarsh.

Marden is the smart choice. Definitely a financial one. Victory have never played there. Can heckle them and make them uncomfortable.

Totally agree, it's about getting the other parts of the city involved. EntCent were going to screw us so it's the smart move.

Save Coopers for the final !!!
