Been watching reruns of Hogans Heroes. Picked up some German words, but jeez those Germans had no idea of what was really happening at Stalag 13.

Kurz brings in his own assistant. He has a decent resume.
Adelaide United is delighted to announce the arrival of Filip Tapalovic as the Club’s new Assistant Head Coach.

In Marco I trust, if he is good enough for Marco then great to have him on board.

It seems very similar to Gombau with Marti coming over with him.
Hopefully the similarities continue and Marco brings a couple of (soon to be) fan favourites as well.

One thing I'm very keen to hear, is how interested the coaches are in the NPL side. I was very happy to see Gombau showing up to NPL games often. I don't see the point in having a youth side if there isn't a plan to get those kids into the senior side.

One of three coaches should be attending the Youth team games at least some of the time. We have done well and a couple of other clubs as well, from taking players from the youth team so it would be idiotic for it to be ignored. I cannot believe that the club management would be happy either as it is a way of getting cheap players as we have seen with McGree.

Now that surprised me.
I thought they were talking to the Austrian.

Welcome Filip Tapalovic!

When do we kick off?

Yeah exactly IMO its literally the only way I see the club remaining competitive.

So what if our "style" and youth plan now ?

Will they continue to play as the seniors do and how will that be ?

I would love to know what the clubs brief to kurz is ie ; play possession based football? develope a young squad capable of winning trophies ? Or is it simply do what ever you want just win ?

These are important things to understand so fans can fairly judge kurz and the teams performance .... but it's not like club objectives are ever shared with fans

Good to see him here in the flesh (in some videos at least).

I am unsure how this is going to pan out. I expected a bit more confidence and mettle than what I saw in the videos - but they didn't give a lot away.

He needs to grab AUFC by the horns and steer us upwards.

I was a big fan of how we played in the last few acl games. It was risky and may not see us win the league with the squad we have but it was very entertaining

There was an article in the Austrian football magazine Ballesterer about the year Borussia Dortmund won the Champions League and Schalke 04 won the Uefa Cup in the same season,1996/97.
Both clubs come from the Ruhr Industrial area and they have a very intense rivalry and their derbies are full on affairs so when both clubs won European honors it was a question of which supporters could out party the others.

I could not help but notice the player in the bottom left of the Schalke 04 team photo, our trainer Marco Kurz.

He's certainly had a quality playing career.
