WATRs Player of 2016/17 Season - ACL MD6
To finish the campaign 5 points off second isn't respective of the side's performance in the tournament.
But as the ACL has shown Australian clubs time, time and time again. If you don't take your chances the opposition will.
A trophy for this season has been organised so stay tuned for the WATRs player of the year soon!

Why on earth does anyone vote for Taylor Regan. From the limited number of clearances he had to make tonight quite a few of them went straight to the opposition. He was clearly our worst defender and is just not good enough.

I felt he moved the ball around very well switching play better than most. His distribution was something I wanted to see him improve and I felt he did tonight. Why on earth does anyone vote for Taylor Regan. I think he has two huge weaknesses in his game, one which reared its head tonight and other was not tested.I felt he moved the ball around very well switching play better than most. His distribution was something I wanted to see him improve and I felt he did tonight. Why on earth does anyone vote for Taylor Regan. From the limited number of clearances he had to make tonight quite a few of them went straight to the opposition. He was clearly our worst defender and is just not good enough.
1. Weak clearances under pressure, especially headed clearances. This happened a number of times tonight despite the defence being under pressure only a very limited amount of times.
2. Playing out under a high press. In the last game when he did not play even with a weakened defence the team was able to play out from the back under pressure. I simply do not think Regan is capable of this, instead he has to just boot the ball rather aimlessly forward.
He also gets beaten in the air too often for my liking.
He does do somethings well, he makes good last ditch efforts that save goals, he can distribute well when not under pressure like tonight where the team sits back an counter attacks. Still I want more from the CBs than I feel Regan can offer.

Can't agree more. I just think tonight he did lift and provide better distribution. Although I agree he was under a low level of pressure. He does do somethings well, he makes good last ditch efforts that save goals, he can distribute well when not under pressure like tonight where the team sits back an counter attacks. Still I want more from the CBs than I feel Regan can offer.
You have made me think about changing my vote! Ochieng impressed me again tonight.

DON"T change your vote, it is important all views are represented, I think it is a real strength of the voting. The best players get the most votes but other players who also play well get some votes as well even if it is not nearly the same numbers. Regan did not have a bad game. Can't agree more. I just think tonight he did lift and provide better distribution. Surely Isaias will win it, although McGree might earn a higher amount of points per game.So Isa won both the club champion award and the mickey mouse member's award. Who will win ours?

I'll tally up the points over the weekend and make an announcement next week. Did everyone enjoy me listing out the points per game last season?

If last season is anything to go by, most if not all the players head straight from the awards dinner to the airport. So we may have to wait till pre-season. Luckily the top 5 players in the voting are going to be here next season. At least the club is doing something right!

Guardiola might have been very close to the lead after 3 or 4 rounds, he did score 3 goals in 3 games very early in the season and was quite impressive without scoring in round 1.whoa whoa spoiler alert, now everyone knows it's not Guardiola
