Well, this isn't looking good. Jeju just scored to go 2-1 up...
Hopefully Teixeria and Ramires are on serious goal bonuses and they lift!
Both have been poor, especially Teixeira.

Looks like we need everything to go our way to advance now.
Sure will. :(

So AU will have to win against Jiangsu and hope Jeju lose to Gamba in Korea. Considering how lousy everyone's home form has been in the group generally maybe there is still hope!

Jiangsu were awful. They looked like a team who was already through to the next round and only needed to put half an effort into the game. Jeju clearly wanted it more and it showed.

Disappointing result but it's still up in the air. We need to win and we need Gamba to win. We can also advance if we win and Jeju draw but we need to win by like 3 goals I think.

If Jeju draw and AU win by 2 they'd be level on points and GD. What determines the winner? It used to be head to head. If that's still the case then AU would go thru.

Still the task is simple of AU. Beat Jiangsu! Hopefully they don't want to risk all their stars in what is a nothing match for them.

To my understanding the ACL group stage point draws are decided not by goal difference, but rather head to head result. We beat Jeju away, so we have the wood over them.

Say if we win 3-0 and Jeju draw 0-0 then we would have scored 3 more goals than they have so we should advance?

Really? I figured it would be on goals scored but that works in our favour if that's the case.

Tiebreakers
The teams are ranked according to points (3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss). If tied on points, tiebreakers are applied in the following order (Regulations Article 10.5):[1]

1. Points in head-to-head matches among tied teams;
2. Goal difference in head-to-head matches among tied teams;
3. Goals scored in head-to-head matches among tied teams;
4. Away goals scored in head-to-head matches among tied teams;
5. If more than two teams are tied, and after applying all head-to-head criteria above, a subset of teams are still tied, all head-to-head criteria above are reapplied exclusively to this subset of teams;
6. Goal difference in all group matches;
7. Goals scored in all group matches;
8. Penalty shoot-out if only two teams are tied and they met in the last round of the group;
9. Disciplinary points (yellow card = 1 point, red card as a result of two yellow cards = 3 points, direct red card = 3 points, yellow card followed by direct red card = 4 points);
10. Team from the higher-ranked association.

We need to win at Hindmarsh regardless!

This team deserves nothing but a sell out home crowd for the final game, though realistically 10k would be a win.

To turn up in osaka with that squad and perform the way they did despite being at the end of a horrible season speaks volumes.

It will also be the last time we see guys like eugene, mcgowan and cirio in red so i hope they get the send off they deserve.

Its funny how our pre season signings were so poor but our mid season signings plus npl level youth have exploded onto the scene. If we cant keep baba, mcgree, odoherty, mileusenic and ochieng for next season then this process has been an utter waste of time.
Ppl who slap the label of truth on the 1st thing they hear, do it out of ignorance, convenience or cant be bothered picking through a thin layer of falsehood to find the real truth, or possibly even another lie

Dear Adelaide United,

Following last night's two ACL results - our epic 3-3 draw and Jeju's undesirable 2-1 win over Jiangsu, our final match against Jiangsu on May 9 has just been notched up to 'MUST-WIN' status.

It's absolutely crucial that we pack the stadium. Do whatever is necessary. Drop ticket prices dramatically - down to $15, $10. Give away freebies to local clubs. Anything possible. But take action now.

May 9 could very well be one of the strongest AUFC memories of recent times - and how special would it be, qualifying for knockout stages against all odds, just over a year after finally winning that inaugural Championship.

Especially considering there is a good chance this might be the last time some legendary players play for the club.

Although the problem with cheap tickets is all the people that bought tickets early will be cranky they paid full price.
