Far busier than Bouzanis even though AU had more possession. Story of the season, midfield doesn't create enough.Melbourne City 1-0 Adelaide United

Don't think the hunger was there particularly after Tarek went down.

At leas my bier stein is full (again). At the end of the day it took a bit of Cahill magic to undo us however we need to create more.
Have a good weekend all. My next game will be from Myanmar so i am not entirely sure if the internet is going to be sufficient for me to watch the game. Either way Myanmar Beer will be involved!

What's your assessment as our resident ACL injury expert?Don't think the hunger was there particularly after Tarek went down.

Haha I wish I was an expert, I'd be a much richer man! What's your assessment as our resident ACL injury expert?Don't think the hunger was there particularly after Tarek went down.
He'll need surgery obviously and 9 months out at least for rehab. Depends how much other damage he's done. At least the off season is long.

Its truly amazing how bad the club's injury run has been in the last 12 months. 3 ACL injuries, 1 snapped achilles, plus kicking the season off with more injured players than fit.

Man, I feel for Tarek if it is his ACL.

Fairly toothless performance tonight I thought. Almost no reaction to going a goal down other than to continue to attempt to hold on to the 1 point they no longer had.
If Elrich has ruptured his ACL then it's safe to assume all of next season is a write-off. Unless he thinks he's close enough to the end of his career for a LARS reconstruction.

city are a class above us, as are sfc and victory. the fact we don't get smashed is a plus. we must get used to this league becoming like the big leagues. there will be a constant top 4 or 5 teams and then the rest of us fighting it out to try a miracle.

Re: Melbourne City v Adelaide United Match Day Jamboree!!!©
Yeah I agree. This is why I'm so keen to see the club work as hard as it can on development. IMO the only way the club can keep up with the likes of Sydney and the Melbourne clubs is to promote youth and get a few good seasons out of them before they move on to bigger and better things.city are a class above us, as are sfc and victory. the fact we don't get smashed is a plus. we must get used to this league becoming like the big leagues. there will be a constant top 4 or 5 teams and then the rest of us fighting it out to try a miracle.
As we've seen with Newcastle, bringing in a rich Chinese investor doesn't assure big money signings. I think anyone thinking that will solve the club's problems needs to take a look at how Shanghai Shenhua were run while Drogba and Anelka were there. Big money can often lead to bigger issues.
The club needs to work harder to ensure the FFSA aren't hindering the NPL side and they also need to ensure older players aren't hindering the next generation of players coming thru. I'm not saying AU HAL side should be a U21 side but young locals have to take priority over older players if the outcome of either of them player is likely to be similar.

We also desperately need Relegation and Promotion to focus the minds.

Re: Melbourne City v Adelaide United Match Day Jamboree!!!©
Yeah, teams like us, Newy, CCM win the toilet seat then lose half their squad to Europe or the bigger clubs with more media presence. Still I like the fact that we're a grassroots club with some local charm. Melbourne city are just too featureless with no culture and being pandered too with ref decisions just makes them a mob to be hated even more. I reckon getting Cahill to use as a media presence just backfired IMO.city are a class above us, as are sfc and victory. the fact we don't get smashed is a plus. we must get used to this league becoming like the big leagues. there will be a constant top 4 or 5 teams and then the rest of us fighting it out to try a miracle.
I'm starting to hate them more than Victory!
Obviously relegation & promotion would help enormously. :
