With Baba finding the back of the net at the likes of Mileusnic finding Baba, do we dare to hope for yet another win?
McGree will be back and should be, barring an unlikely start against UAE, rather fresh.

It's a real bummer that the season does not have another 10 games to go.
I think we could win this.

Confident. Peaking at the same time as last season.

It'll be interesting to see how Perth bounce back after a pretty terrible loss to Sydney.
Its crazy to think AU could still come 7th after the season they've had. In a few years time when the memory fades a touch we may look back and say "7th? oh we must have been unlucky to just miss the finals!"

Who knows where we'd be if a few results in the early rounds went our way! I'm not saying there weren't underlying problems but i don't think the squad's confidence would have been as absent as it has been during many matches this year. Oh well gotta learn from it!It'll be interesting to see how Perth bounce back after a pretty terrible loss to Sydney.

Yeah totally. That's what I found frustrating in the early rounds I felt the side weren't actually playing that badly. I heard a stat earlier this season that said if AU had scored all the goals that we're off the woodwork, at Christmas they would have been third.Who knows where we'd be if a few results in the early rounds went our way! I'm not if if that's totally accurate but as we witnessed last season, confidence plays a big role in things and I think we may not have seen games like the Perth game if the side was in a better position with luck on their side.
Who knows maybe a few extra decent results and there wouldn't have been so much pressure on the side later on. With the results and injuries the squad faced at the start of the season its really not shocking they are in the position they are in now.

Chelo, McGree and Kitto back in!
Tough selections this week, we have 4 starting midfielders for only 3 positions. Can any of them play right wing? That seems to be our weakest link at the moment.

McGree, Isa certainties.
Kim or Chelo can have the third.

What happened to Mells? He was looking promising last year however seems to have dropped off the radar.

I dunno. I think Makarounas is ahead of him in the pecking order now. Solid player but still very young (same age as O'Doherty) and his style of play seems to be more the sort of guy who keeps the midfield ticking rather than the sort of guy who can make something happen out of nothing, which is why he's probably not favoured so much as a bench option.
Hopefully he is working hard & applying himself behind the scenes because I think he's got a very bright future.

All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

It's going to be a chilly old evening at Hindmarsh, really looking forward to this match.

He's a symptom of the non-existent youth development system in Australia. The guy would be lucky to have played 15 games at differing levels this season. What happened to Mells? He was looking promising last year however seems to have dropped off the radar.

Fair call.McGree, Isa certainties.

Although I wasn't disappointed with Maka on the weekend (not over joyed either). Personally with next season in mind the club could do worse than offer him another start and see if he's ready to stake his claim for a contract next season. Carrusca has hit a solid amount of form before getting sent off, but considering the club has nothing to play for this season I think using this time to 1. prepare for next season 2. ensure the club is in the best possible position to be competititve in the ACL still.

He's also one of a half dozen players that had injury/illness interrupted preseasons (or in the first few games). It's no surprise to me that all of these players have had underwhelming seasons and some have only just started to play some decent football. The reasons for that might be because being more senior they were given games even though they were underdone and have built some fitness and form which hasn't been afforded to the younger Mells so it does link to what you're saying. He's a symptom of the non-existent youth development system in Australia.
