We deserve some luck. Not sure why some of you are unhappy.

Because in no circumstance should a player wrapping his arms around the goalkeeper result in a penalty. Some of the poorest sportsmanship I've ever seen from United in this game (the dive, the petulance).
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

In defence of the Referee, Theo threw an elbow. It was foolish, maybe not a very heavy elbow, but in my book an elbow is a red card every day of the week. MacGowan could have been called for fouling Theo, but he did no more than the Roar CBs had been doing to Baba all night with no sanction from the ref, so he's consistent there. Even if McGowan had been called for a foul the keeper subsequently threw an elbow, so red card and penalty against the last action is correct.

My opinion.

Was following audio on abc and when all that kicked off and there was the suggestion of a penalty, they switched to the wanderers match for the pre game. Couldn't believe it. Crazy hour. I've had no idea what's been going on but it sounds like i wasn't alone.

Was disgusting from McGowan. For mine should have been a foul the other way, and a yellow to both players.
It was probably a foul against McGowan and no penalty, (seconds earlier i was infuriated that he was running off instead of being in a position to capitalise on Theo's drop, while simultaneously not getting back to defend.) But only because that was the first offence of the two, and the red card was definitely there. The elbow had a fair enough force behind it that some refs have awarded red regardless of head contact, but more importantly you do borderline/shady stuff on purpose and accidentally hit the head it's your own damn fault when you get the deserved red card.

Incidentally did anyone notice the Adelaide coaching staff/official prone on the ground in the tunnel just before the interview with Regan?

Have to be honest. I don't like winning like that. Given our terrible run of bad calls against us at the start of the season I'll take it, but i don't have to like it.

I'm more concerned about Amor running off down the tunnel after the match. Hopefully it's just him trying to avoid any possible issues with brisbane.

There was definitely something happening in the tunnel, everyone around the tunnel (dodd, mckay, photographers etc) were staring down there for a long time, wasnt sure if it was just because Grant Mayer and John Aloisi were mouthing off to each other or not.

How about when the penalty was awarded the united bench staff were throwing drinks to our players standing on the sideline and the linesman starts going off at them for throwing drink bottles or being out of their technical area. The 4th official comes along and makes the entire adelaide bench sit down, then the Brisbane goalkeeper coach gives Holman the spare keeper jersey and walks about 15 yards onto the pitch with him giving advice to pass on and the referees didn't do a thing.

I guess as ugly as it all was the sweetest thing for me was that the villian, #7 for them (Christiansen?, Made 3 yellow card tackles and got away with two and didnt get anything for his dissent which was much worse than Chelo. He was the one to pull on the keepers jersey and wasn't even close to saving it. Jamie Young on the sidelines gestured to Holman that cirio was going right but obviously that advice didn't make it to the GK.

What?

It's getting stranger.

Poor form from mcgree on the dive and carrusca on the kicking the ball away but really poor from theo. Would have been fine if he didnt throw the elbow.
