I think all those players are probably better off staying put if they are going to get limited to zero game time. Better to keep pushing for their place at their clubs.Nice work, well deserved.Mcgree has made the 23 man squad. Congrats Riley!!!!
Jimmy Jeggo also gets his first call up.
Ange sees something in him.
Players like Goodwin, Ikon, Burns and Mabil are missing out.

Please oh please AU sign him up now.
I don't care if his value has gone up 10 fold. He is worth it.
Him and Isa for the next 3 years will be a joy to watch.

Re: Riley McGree
That's the most frustrating thing, that the club has waited till he's now considered one of the hottest prospects of the HAL. If his form is good enough to earn a call up to the Socceroos this year, then surely it's good enough to earn a new deal. I understand contract negotiation isn't a simple process but I fear this has Kamau written all over it again, and the club hasn't learnt from their inaction last season. Please oh please AU sign him up now.

The club is clearly unable to lure talent from interstate here, so its critical they bring talent thru themselves. Allowing that talent to leave for free the moment they become capable at HAL level completely undermines the entire process.
The longer this goes on the more I begin to question some people's ability to identify talent at the club.

So true Stuckey.
I wouldn't object to the club paying him a very healthy wage. In fact, I encourage it.
We need to keep these players.

He's made the cut to the 23 and is off to Tehran. An exciting time for the lad.

Tehran then 5 days later playing back in oz, shortish turnaround, he might get a run off the bench hopefully. Him playing will make it easier to bear us losing him for a game or two.

Re: Riley McGree
Yeah I agree. He's at the very least HAL standard. So that should be his wage regardless of age.So true Stuckey.

Re: Riley McGree
he's way off socceroos level, postecoglou chucking him in to distract from poor results. regarding signing it takes two to sign it's very likely the hold up is from his end. the ffa not passing on the full amount of the tv revenue handicaps the clubs in keeping players longer and bringing them back earlier

Shocker of a dive. Needs to rub that out of his game pronto, before he gets a reputation. He also walks a fine line, Isaias-style, when it comes to niggle.
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

Comparatively Garuccio has kept his feet a number of times this season where I believe if he went down he would have gained AU a penalty.Shocker of a dive. Needs to rub that out of his game pronto, before he gets a reputation. He also walks a fine line, Isaias-style, when it comes to niggle.

Re: Riley McGree
In McGree's defense, the defender went to make contact then pulled out.
McGree went to ground, without 1. rolling around like an idiot and 2. Not looking back at the ref for the whistle.
The ref made the decision.

Agree, if it becomes a habit then it is a problem but one incident shouldn't define him as a diver. In McGree's defense, the defender went to make contact then pulled out.
