On a side note Gamba lost 4-1 at home to Jeju today. Jiangsu beat them 1-0 away from home last week. Really If we get some results and luck we could still be in for a chance to progress.

Yeah all is not lost. Hopefully AU can build on this performance and with the hopeful inclusion on Isaias next match day AU can get a result at home to Jeju.

I wondered around the 75th minute whether Kim went off. I realised he didn't. I barely noticed him in the second half. Disappointing game from him given his left couple of performances.

Ill be interested to see how people react to margush.

Imo john hall has wrongly become a whipping boy over the last few games, he is a good keeper who is still at the start of his career. So is margush, only he is currently the more fashionable of the two and people tend to shun and champion players with little to no logic.

Even with the mistake he made today he has impressed me more than Hall has till now.

Fashionable?

Margush has done a better job. That is why he is championed.

I don't think Margush was perfect. His mistake cost us the first goal and he got nutmegged for the second but I think compared to Halls decision making that has cost us many goals it can be forgiven.

As I've said before I think Margush is much better at commanding the box I think as shown by our defensive performances in the last two games. Overall I think Margush is the more solid choice.

I don't think Hall is a bad keeper. Out of all of our keepers he is easily the best with his feet, but he has a couple of flaws in his game that need correcting before he can be a first choice.

I thought we played well. Especially in the second half.
There was a lot more space in midfield. Which gave mcgree and odoherty more time to turn and run at defenders.
Great to have Cirio out wide again.
Elrich had a good game also, he played more central when we went froward at times, maybe this is to cover counter attacks.
We are UNITED, after all....

People have covered my feelings quite well.

Very happy for Babalj on his comeback game too. Having done an ACL I know it's a hard slog in rehab.

Those having a go at Elrich need to get a bit more of a clue, the bloke busted his gut getting forwards and back countless times, socred a goal too. 2nd goal was woefully defended by McGowan who backed off until Teixera was basically one on one with Margush, Marrone was shocking and should be the one copping the heat.

Margush better than Hall as he is younger, a good shot stopper, commands his area better and the team looks more composed with him there. Hall on the other hand has done the odd good thing but usually undoes that by making a couple of errors + the team looks jumpy with him there. Margush stuffed up the 1st and did well otherwise. Just saying it as I see it.

Exactly right on both counts imo.
Elrich really couldn't have done much better all game, except standing half a foot further back when through on goal. And Margush seems to have great command of his area (though both he & Hall could develop into top keepers)

I agree. I think Hall and Margush both have pro's and con's. IMO neither is clearly better than the other in general. I think Margush is a more natural leader it appears. Hall IMO has better foot skills and I feel finds players with a pass more often. If we compare Hall v Newcastle and Margush v Victory, Halls passing success was 71% while Margush's was 44% for basically the same amount of passes (I'm not saying that's conclusive evidence though). Both have shown to be good shot stoppers although as to be expected with young keepers both are prone to errors from time to time.

I had a go at Elrich for one incident during the game, that was complaining to the referee while his direct opponent took the ball into attack and eventually scored. I still think he was in error although he probably would not have caught Teixeira anyway. McGowan made a huge mistake in a situation he is usually very good at, that is making a tackle when he has a player running at him, he made some good tackles in the game in this situation, but he was totally done this time and it cost a goal.
