Club will appoint a new coach by mid-June per the article.

Meaning any time between June 15 and the start of the season in October.

So June they say we will have a replacement, or words to that effect.

Speculation time.
The coach needs to have landed in Adelaide by Mid-June not just announced.

Considering this was meant to have been decided in February, is anyone surprised?
I'm not, the longer it dragged on, the more likely it was that he was going + it was the only logical reason why player signings have been non-existent.

I'd suggest Mark Jones is the best candidate (cheapest = best at AU?)

not sold on batistuta as a great player with no coaching experience, more than likely end in tears anyway.

Agreed.

Surely Gui let the board know, we SHOULD have nearly finished the process.

If Batistuta has a decent team around him it'll work out OK however I don't see the board splashing the cash to get them all here.

No offence to Jonesey but if we end up with a guy of his ilk then the backlash will be massive

This would probably mean Pau goes as well, but I hope not. I would like to see him put up his hand for the head coach role.
That would be an interesting and possibly astute choice. I'd be more than willing to give him a go, not least as he'd be able to step straight in.

Former Socceroos star turned NPL coach Damian Mori has emerged as an early contender for the now vacant Adelaide United coaching job.

Just he saying he's keen really.

It would show a bit of lack of ambition by the club but I would not be to unhappy to see him appointed. Unlike Batistuta he has coaching experience. Interesting though if he ended up coaching his son.

No thanks to Mori. Or to Jones. Full respect to them both, but pass.

They way we are at the moment I would welcome anyone who could bring some stability into the club.
Some experience would also be positive.
