Yeah I agree. Surely there is no way the situation is up in the air, but I have doubts as well, if the club has yet to re-sign players that have already shown so much promise while doing so well under their noses who knows what the situation is!You'd hope the comments from Griffin in today's article are just him playing coy in public (though that would probably be the first time ever he's shown anything resembling discretion)
If it's true that Amor hasn't told them his plans, and there is no Plan B in the works, that would be a staggering display of incompetence from all involved. I have plenty of doubt about the current admins competence, but surely they couldn't possibly be that stupid.
Who "will" replace Amor?

Val's going hard on the Molina angle. Admittedly this one is a bit more plausible than Aloisi rumour
http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/foo ... d243262296“To me (the Adelaide United coaching job) is not an open possibility right now,’’ said Molina speaking exclusively to The Advertiser from Valencia, Spain.
“I would like to coach in Australia because it’s a good league with good clubs in a very good country.

Val has also linked us with batistuta...
Not keen on giving a complete rookie coach the reigns, if he cant get a role in argentina then there is probably good reason for that.

Easy to do.Val's going hard on the Molina angle. Admittedly this one is a bit more plausible than Aloisi rumour

You check a rumour from somewhere ( WATR for example) and make a story out of it.
Then you contact the person the story is about and say " look here my good man, there is a story in the local paper linking you with the AU position, what do you have to say?
The "contact" demurs but makes all the right noises about how great the club, city, state, country are, etc. and how much he has always wanted to live in Klemzig, but would never consider applying for the position out of respect, love, admiration for his colleague or until the respected, loved admired colleague decides to go...
And there you have it, my take on a story where there wasn't one.
" There was, he added, no room for spin, showmanship, hubris or “any of the feelings of invincibility” that so often shackle nations with an imperial past ... " - - -

Re: Who should replace Amor?
Batistuta and the club are meeting in the next few weeks according to zappers .
Also revealed he has only coached previously at local level in Argentina , so we would be employing a senior Australian assistant ....forever cutting corners it seems.
This may keep carussca at the club going forward if the 2 know each other

Re: Who should replace Amor?
Looks like Pau won't be involved moving forward, has all his furniture up for sale!
I don't think his impact on the success of the club has been recognised enough, he and Josep were a 2 man team with Josep obviously the charismatic front man and Pau the perfect back room man. A proper Batman and Robin double act!

I'll be sad to see him leave. I agree with you so many key figures of AU's championship win aren't offered as much recognition as they deserve.Looks like Pau won't be involved moving forward, has all his furniture up for sale!

Its like Formula 1, obviously the driver plays a massive role in the success of the team, but the people in the garage play just as big a role yet rarely get acknowledged widely.

Val, for whatever it is worth, still thinks we are after Batistuta and might get him although I am not sure it is such a good idea.

Re: Who should replace Amor?
Confirmed - Amor is gone. Thanks for the memories Gui!
This would probably mean Pau goes as well, but I hope not. I would like to see him put up his hand for the head coach role.

I know the article says it was the players today but I hope the board knew about his intentions A LONG time ago. If they truly didn't it would certainly sour my opinion of Gui.

I guess how long they take to announce a replacement.I know the article says it was the players today but I hope the board knew about his intentions A LONG time ago. If they truly didn't it would certainly sour my opinion of Gui.
So he leaves as many people's best ever AU coach. But also statistically AUs worst permanent coach.
It will be interesting to see if the next coach is afforded a similar amount of time with a win percentage under 35%?

So June they say we will have a replacement, or words to that effect.
Speculation time.
