Hi all.
Wondering what your thoughts are on the Reds membership offerings? Are you happy with what you receive? Do you think they're reasonably priced?
As an Interstate fan, I have to say that I am bitterly disappointed. I would love to get behind the club, and add to their membership tally, but paying $85 for some playing cards and a mousepad is just ridiculous.
To purchase a membership, I would be looking for a cap and/or scarf, and tickets to away games, similar to Perth Glory's option.
I will still regularly attend AUFC matches in NSW, but it is always disappointing not to feel like a proper part of the club.

Re: Adelaide United membership
I've never had an out of town nembership but I think it's a good idea to include an away match, the hard thing would be that they all fluctuate in price.
My beef with memberships is that they changed the section where I sit from gold reserved to platinum and raised the price by $100 a season unless I paid for 3 seasons upfront and locked in the price. It felt like a money frab because we were on a high from winning the double, now we're dead last and there is absolutely no incentive to spend more money.
If I renew, my brother probably isnt, I'm thinking about going GA next season, I get to the games early normally anyway so I am really getting no benefits apart from shade for my extra ~$200.

I agree Nate, I lived in Melbourne and would have loved to purchase a membership that included tickets. I'm happy to see my money go to the club if that helps them but I don't really need a bunch of fairly low quality items of merchandise.Hi all.

I guess getting those sort of memberships would require the club to gain tickets from opposition clubs. With all the restrictions on the away fans bays I'm sure this is a difficult thing. Although as with the active bay requiring memberships it could be a good way for officials to keep better tabs on away fans.

I think it's a case of the market just not quite being big enough for them to want to spend money on something they're not going to get a decent return from.

I just pay for the membership and don't bother with the merchandise. It costs too much to send to me wherever I may be and the chances of it turning up are not always great.

Re: Adelaide United membership
Yeah that's probably true. I guess as more of the interstate memberships are purchased its worth the club's time seeking out ticket packages for those fans.I think it's a case of the market just not quite being big enough for them to want to spend money on something they're not going to get a decent return from.
AU isn't a massive draw card for opposition teams so its very unlikely any AU away games will sell out. Especially in NSW now that WSW aren't at Parramatta any more.

Thanks for the replies.
If it's not financially viable to include away tickets (although a club like Perth Glory, and all AFL and NRL clubs doing it makes me think it is possible), then a cap or scarf or something to wear to matchdays is a must.

Yeah I agree. I'd love more wearable merchandise as part of the membership. Thanks for the replies.

A season ticket and playing shirt in a package seems like a no-brainer to me.

Anybody know what's happened to the 9 game and 3 game memberships this year?

Re: Adelaide United membership
I think they tend to promote these closer to the start of the season. They want to ensure all renewals and full seasons are done first, I imagine.Anybody know what's happened to the 9 game and 3 game memberships this year?
