Alagich

Postby Agostinho Sun Dec 25, 2016 10:33 am

Has anyone heard anything about Richie Alagich? I heard he died on Friday, which was obviously quite a shock to me.

I googled it though and couldn't see anything at all. Can anyone confirm or deny?

Merry Christmas btw

Good morning Agostinho and Merry Christmas.
WTF..?
Where did you "hear" something like that?

Rick Parfitt passed away overnight.

A twitter account that appears to be Richie Alagich's (https://twitter.com/Metalagich/with_replies) tweeted in reply to Milan Susak earlier today.

Even if this is not his account I find it extremely unlikely such an occurrence would not be covered in the media and surely the Adelaide United website would have something.

Well I have a twitter account which I very rarely actually follow but from time to time I get a notification when a few people I follow are sharing stuff - and the notification which popped up on my iPad said 'Vale Richie Alagich'. My wife dismissed the notification though before I had a chance to look at it and then I couldn't find it again.

Sounds like he is still alive and well though thankfully. Strange one and sorry for alarming y'all!

Christmas Eve night here in Pennsylvania so just about to hit the hay. Have a wonderful Christmas Day. Hopefully some Christmas magic rubs off on our United.

I think it is a different Richard Alagich.

On the Football Australia website
Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of long-time football coach Richard Alagich who sadly passed away yesterday morning. Richard was a pioneering youth development coach and a member of the famous Alagich family which produced Socceroos & Matildas.

It seems they might be related.

EDIT:
Confirmed http://sesasport.com/?p=1265.
Richie and Richard Alagich are distant cousins. Both descended from Josip Alagich through different sons. Richard was his grandson and Richie his great grandson.

OK guys thanks for the confirmation! Explains why I didn't find anything on google - I was searching for 'Richie', not Richard.

Sorry to hear about Richard Alagich, but I'm very relieved it's not our Richie ... easy mistakovich
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.
