More of a tournament then.
This will be gone soon, and clubs will develop youth in their respective NPL.

Hopefully the FFSA lifts it's game then. A 22 game season is no where near long enough.More of a tournament then.

People wonder why our youth NT sides aren't as competitive as they used to be. Its because a large portion of our young talent is playing bugger all.

Maybe there is scope for a summer competition for NPL sides. Are there enough grounds with suitable lighting to allow this?

LOL FFSA lifting their game? They seem content living in the 20th century and resting on past laurels.

TBF they have done something to address the fact they only merit 1 SA club in the FFA Cup with a number of new entrants. Although that hasn't changed yet.LOL FFSA lifting their game? They seem content living in the 20th century and resting on past laurels.

I agree. Having a NYL/NPL comp in the summer could be a wonderful step forward providing more games for youth and getting the NPL clubs closer to a 2nd division.Maybe there is scope for a summer competition for NPL sides. Are there enough grounds with suitable lighting to allow this?

8 games is certainly not enough for any player to develop. It takes close to that long, if not longer, to get used to teammates and bed down tactics fully.

Re: 16/17 NYL "season"
In theory the side should be very comfortable around each other as the NPL squad should be the NYL squad. The only variable "should" be the change in standard (which should be higher) and getting used to travelling around the country.8 games is certainly not enough for any player to develop. I thought there have been differences previously between the two squads and the NPL squad was quite fluid during the season.

I'm not certain at this stage but I'd expect the NYL squad to be very similar to the NPL squad. Is the NPL squad going to the NYL squad? In theory the side should be very comfortable around each other as the NPL squad should be the NYL squad.
