While this is obviously disappointing for Mells as I am sure he was keen to play for the Young Socceroos it is not necessarily bad news for us. He could be available sooner for us than others as the the Young Socceroos may be very cautious about taking a player into a tournament not 100% fit. He might be fit for us in a week or so before he would have got back from Young Socceroos duty.

I thought Mells was ill not long ago. Nice work from the selection crew for the U19 squad. Makes you wonder how much effort goes into the selections of these youth NT squads.

Ok ... so... before Rd 3 this was the story:

11.Sergio CIRIO (knee – 8-10 weeks), 2.Michael MARRONE (achilles – 10 weeks), 10.Marcelo CARRUSCA (foot – 5 weeks), 17.Nikola MILEUSNIC (quad – 4 weeks), 23.Jordan ELSEY (knee – season)

Add Henrique to this list. Dropping like flies.

I imagine we'll hear about Henrique tomorrow.
I often that injury list isn't very up-to-date. I reckon Marrone isn't that far off.

Marrone starts full training this week with a hope to put his hand up for selection in 4-5 weeks. He did a little interview with jarrod walsh pre game.

He said similar things through the week on the Daily football show podcast (starts at 33:30)

Worth a listen, particular about the communication issues that they're having at the moment with Sergi (which is natural) and how that will improve over time.

Generally the team looked pretty much on the same page as one another, Sergi included, so that's a plus at this early stage.
Fingers crossed for the Fish. I really hope the injury isn't as bad as it looked when he was getting stretchered off

fffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

EDITED:
'up to 6 weeks' with a grade 2 MCL injury. Sucks, obviously could have been much worse though.

that's true, we're really boned when 6 weeks to one of our key players sounds like good news though!

So by round 9 we could possibly have all our key players back?

Man we have the worst luck atm.

Choi looked good in his cameo, probably showed more than Henrique did for 60 mins.
