Who did they wrongly play?

EDIT: Worked it out, now not sure it needs mentioning.
I am still unclear as to what the grounds were for the initial appeal by AUFC.

Either way we need to maintain at least 4 points between us and ABE so it becomes a matter of academic interest rather than a determinant for relegation.

I find it interesting that this issue is such big news. Both Val and Soccer on 531 have ran news about this. I haven't seen news on any other club doing such things? Surely AU aren't the only side to incorrectly play someone?

it's probably more to do with the DC decision and subsequent FFSA appeal of an appeal. 'Days of Our Lives' stuff which appeals to some.

"Like sand through the hourglass, this is the SA local football scene."

In the end it leaves us only 1 point clear of ABE so squeaky bum time has returned.

There are at least two issues.
The first is what is an appropriate punishment for playing an ineligible player. I think losing the game and therefore any points gained is a fair punishment along with a fine.
The second is whether FFSA have followed there own procedures in changing the punishment. I have no idea whether they have or not but if they have done the wrong thing then appealing their decision to a higher authority seems like a reasonable action. It could be argued that the club would be derilect in its responsibility if they did not do everything they could to overturn what they believe to be a wrong decision. If this means going all the way to CAS then so be it.

2-1 win over Croydon, an extremely important 3 points!

He seems to be a very exciting player and his introduction into the team at the start of the season lead to better results for the team. I would love to see him come through. Perhaps he could be a bench option to come on and excite this season.

I agree. Results really seemed to turn around when Huss brought him and a couple of other reserve players in. I hope the club doesn't let him slip through their fingers.

It is always good having one or two in the senior squad. Whether they play or not, it gives life to the conveyor belt of talent if kids know that if they do well enough in the NPL they will be noticed.

The game against Birks has been moved to the Parks due to Jack Smith being water logged and unplayable. It has also been moved forward to 12:00. Good news for us as we need at least a point out of this game to keep our destiny in our own hands. Our 0-3 forfeit will bugger the goal difference, meaning we have to stay ahead of ABE on points alone.

ABE are away to Croydon later in the day.

A double by Brook and a goal by Hamish McCabe means the team wins 3-2. Excellent result. Brook scoring the in the senior friendly and now a crucial double in this game. Perhaps signs he is really growing as a player. I doubted he would see much, if any, A-league time this season but if he can prove himself to be a goal scorer then he could be a handy impact sub.

Great news indeed. If ABE get anything less than 3 points this afternoon we are secure.

Last year 5-7 players, McGree, O'Doherty, Margush, Koutrombis and Tongyik, perhaps Warland and Ocheing, successfully graduated from the NPL team to A-league level.
Who is going to this season? Brook is a maybe, anyone else?
