The Wish List

Postby Old Gregg Wed May 04, 2016 9:49 am

Now that we are Premiers & Champions, what else would we like to happen? This is a thread for all suggestions, large or small, as silly as they might be... here are 3 off the top of my head to kick it off...

-A season in review DVD (including full match replay of the Grand Final)

-Trumpets in the Red Army, and drummers with a better sense of rhythm :D

-A slightly updated crest ... I think it could look heaps better if it were tweaked just a bit (e.g. changing the turn-of-the-millennium font) while retaining the elements like the ball & the red/yellow/blue swoosh.

Thoughts?
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

Very harsh on the drummers, they work extremely hard and no-one is going to be volunteering to replace them any time soon.
Do agree on the DVD though.

I'm sure that's a joke.

Love the work the drummers do. Rain, hail or shine they are there.

It was partly a joke.
Their commitment is awesome ... their sense of riddim, not always so (but much better than they used to be).
But we definitely need more people willing to roll up their sleeves and get into it.
Out of a crowd of 12,000 people on average, for example, surely one or two own a trumpet and know how to play it.
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

Just remember these are real people that you are making jokes about. Probably the most committed people in Adelaide active support also.

Sorry Old Gregg, I agree with most of the stuff you post on here but the trumpet suggestion gets a big no from me.

You just have to listen to CCM home games with that band they have droning out the theme tune to Game of Thrones etc.

Sorry, but it's just not football.

jeeeeeez lighten up man! forget I said anything about the drums then.

Next suggestion - a Legends match as a curtain-raiser to our first home game next season, or as a stand-alone charity match

Wheel out all the old & broken Reds heroes: Veart, Vidmar, Pantelis, Dodd, Costanzo, Valkanis, Cassio etc etc and get them to play against a similar team of (e.g.) Melbourne Victory legends.
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

Yeah I think the last people that should feel need to lift their game are the drummers.
Rain, hail or shine they are there giving their all.

As for my wish list.
I would love the club to sort out the NPL side for next season and work towards something long term. Getting at least a first team and a reserve side, and ensuring the side has a decent amount of time to work on playing like the HAL side.

Re-signing Amor!

Re-signing a few key players, McGowan and either Kamau or Goodwin would be a wonderful start.

Announcing a high profile friendly (as Shin just mentioned) Leicester would be amazing.

Bringing back the club rebate (or something similar) that allows local clubs the ability to profit financially from helping AU grow. This is a key area for the club to grow. Engage the local clubs.

Calm down mate. It was the lightest of jokes/comment, that offered constructive criticism. Nobody is bagging the drummers themselves or their commitment to United.

I wonder if our little title tilt garnered much media attention overseas? Doubt it, but it would be nice.

South Aussie government is lobbying for the game apparently.

That would be awesome.

Thats is huge!

They dont have to like us but if they can see profit and future business opportunites by supporting the game then football atleast has a voice politically.

We have so much momentum lets hope the club and ffa make the most of it.
