We are third playing the top team away from home.

Not going to be easy but we are good enough to win this game. WSW are a good team but we can be better than them.

If we win and City win then we will be top again. Perhaps not the most likely outcome but certainly a possibility.

Lets get fired up and ready to watch our team win again.

Isaias might be back in the starting XI which can only help and hopefully Pablo is back as well to play his super sub role.

Hopefully a few mistakes will be learnt from. Isa will be a big inclusion, unless his injury is still an issue I expect him to start. It will be interesting to see who takes the LB role. Goody was very good there previously.

Goodwin to LB for me if Isa is starting, he can drop inbetween the CBs when goody needs to go forward to help the attack. Cirio and Goody combine quite good on the left.

I'm still a fan of bringing in Ochieng. It's a risk to throw him in the deep end, but trying to be conservative by playing a CB in LB, is not a risk that should be taken.

Ideally, I'd prefer to see Goodwin play LW and not LB, but he definitely combines well with Cirio.

Under gombau we had 2 players per position more or less.

This is one area we are lacking currently and are now in a bit of a bind. Although 2 players per position is probably a little ambitious given the restraints of the aleague.

ADELAIDE United midfielder Marcelo Carrusca remains touch and go for Saturday’s clash with Western Sydney after being forced from the field with a groin strain on the weekend.

Oh dear. Although I'm probably more concerned about Isaias being out then if Carrusca is out.
I feel Mauk can step forward and play the number 10 role well enough.

The situation is almost completely unchanged, it was probably worse under Gombau, although he did play Konstandopoulos for a tiny amount of time.

Cirio............djite.............ferriera
Mabil...........jeronimo......kitto

.........carussca.....Lustica.........
.........jbd.............melling..........
.................isaias....................
...............watson.....................
Cassio.....boogers...mckain..elrich
Zullo........elsey.......malik....bowles

With many of those second listed players abl to play multiple positions.

Gombau absolutely felt he had multile players per position

I would rather compare the squad Gombau had during the the last season.
That squad had 3 goals keepers. Improved under Amor with only two goalkeepers.
That squad had 3 full backs and a CB playing RB and LB.
The current squad has 3 full backs and a CB playing RB and LB
That squad had 5 CBs, one too many.
This squad has 4 CBs.
That squad had 4 primarily CM/DM/AM players, Carrusca, Jeggo, Isaias and Watson.
This squad has 4 primarily CM/DM/AM players, Carrusca, Mauk, Isaias and Mells.
That squad had 5 wingers.
This squad has 4 wingers.
That squad haf 2 strikers.
This squad has 3 strikers.

So the only real change is the loss of an unneeded CB and the removal of the 3rd goalkeeper for a third striker.
Both squads need(ed) more depth in the midfield, another left sided player. Seeing Babalj did not work out due to injury both squads need(ed) a striker.
The same problems existed in both squads, but this squad is slightly better because we are not wasting a spot on a third goalkeeper.

Zullo, Jeronimo, Lustica, Melling, McKain, Ferriera, Barker-Daish and Cassio where not part of the squad at the end of last season, only Ferriera was part of the squad for part of the year. Mabil is not a LWer.

Your literally debating youself at this point.

my point is during the gombau era we were better covered in all positions, and not one particular moment that u can identify where we were not for argumental purposes.

Its not even about judging gombau and amors signings it was just a casual acknowledgment to a time when we had a very deep squad.

My fault for taking the bait
