If La Rocca can be offloaded and both Van Dijk and Troisi come in, I'd be keen as fuck.

Re: van dijk - REDEMPTION
I think this could be the beginning of the end for Pablo if it happens. Granted he and SVD are not similar types but they both operate in the final third and I actually think Isias, Cirio and Carrusca are nailed on for the ACL squad.
Serg is another option for CF if Bruce gets injured or his improvement in form doesn’t continue on an upward trend, and both Eli and Pablo have so far failed to be a viable alternative for one reason or another.
Good player Pablo, but I don’t think he ever really fitted in with AU’s system – for me he’s not a CF or a winger, more a No.10 or the poacher in a front 2. We already have a star and a back up for the former and we don’t play the latter.

Re: van dijk - REDEMPTION
Imo this makes sense as to why we were letting malik go as we had la rocca to cover at the back once fit.
Now that the trade fell through and the form of elsey it would seem we are covered at the back so i would expect la rocca to be released if this is going to happen.
Which means either babalj will be returned to his club or bruce could be going back to china?
The big question is can van dijk adjust the the physical nature of the aleague and the higher quality of acl in such a sort time having only played in south east asia for the last few years

Hopefully he's fit.
His weakness compared to Bruce is his engine and probably strength but he's better in pretty much every other facet. Especially finishing obviously.
We don't press as much as we did last season so that might not be so much of an issue.

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/foo ... 0a484949afSERGINHO van Dijk — Adelaide United’s most prolific goal scorer in history — has answered an SOS from the Reds
Ahh. Travis Dodd? Is it really that hard to do a bit of research? In fact shouldn't take research that should just be general knowledge for a football "journalist"
Sounds great though. Welcome back Serg!

Re: van dijk - REDEMPTION
Val's article mentioned we've invited him to Adelaide and he'll be at the CCM game on Saturday.
From what I can gather he will "trial" with us to see if he is fit enough etc to sign a contract.
I think an ACL only contract would be low risk to start with - 1 game plus the more if we qualify.

I think the club's goal would be to sign him for ACL, and then for A-League when/if a current visa player leaves (I dare say Pablo or La Rocca).

This also has a Déjà vu feeling about it.

Both players contract expires at season's end.I think the club's goal would be to sign him for ACL, and then for A-League when/if a current visa player leaves (I dare say Pablo or La Rocca).
I'm a fan of Serg coming in for a bit part ACL role. I'm not so sure about signing him for an entire HAL season.
I'd much rather see what Amor's Spanish connections can bring. Surely he could lure a better player than a 34 year old Serg?
