"Micky V has left as his position has been made redundant - we don't need full time youth league coaches. Bitch pls."I was just thinking how annoying it is that we've heard nothing from the club.
But I know all we're going to hear is a stock standard statement which won't explain the situation at all.

Always such a heart warming way to finish a press release.

Re: AUFC 2016 NPL Season
So what is Valkanis's role in the club now?
He was the youth team coach and the NPL side coach and senior side assistant manager??
Now he is youth team coach and assistant manager and Pezos is part time NPL side coach??

I think he's going to part ways once the NYL season ends.So what is Valkanis's role in the club now?

Although we've still heard nothing official on this yet.

For me the improvements in the youth set up over the past year with the introduction of the NPL team had been a real bright spot for the club. Disappointing that it's now seemingly turning into a giant clusterf*ck

Marti rumored to be going, Valkanis might be going. Everyone is going??I think he's going to part ways once the NYL season ends.So what is Valkanis's role in the club now?

I was actually thinking that maybe if Marti is going, Valkanis might have been relieved of the NPL part of his role so that he could be more involved with senior team so he could take over from Marti when Marti leaves. Then Pezos could be given the full time role that Valkanis currently holds as youth team coach and NPL coach.

Re: AUFC 2016 NPL Season
Read more at http://www.adelaideunited.com.au/articl ... C7k7Jyu.99Adelaide United will be holding open trials for the Club's 2016 National Premier League (NPL) squad.
On the back of a successful 2015 State League campaign, the Young Reds were promoted to the 2016 PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues (NPL) South Australia.
Wow.
So trials start in a week. In that time they need to select the squad and then have a pre-season training in less than a month before the first game.
What a shambles.
The club has also confirmed MV won't be involved.

Get your boots ready SalmonTo be eligible for the trials, players must be born between 1 January 1996 and 31 December 2000.

Surely most of the current NYL squad would be retained anyway. They have been training and playing regularly in the same system.Read more at http://www.adelaideunited.com.au/articl ... C7k7Jyu.99Adelaide United will be holding open trials for the Club's 2016 National Premier League (NPL) squad.

This will only be used to find some diamonds in the rough, then possibly fill any gaps required.

Re: AUFC 2016 NPL Season
I really hope so but considering they've just given the coaching staff the boot I really don't know what's in store.
It really has the feel of wiping the slate clean. Which given the side's success is insane.
I don't get why the older players are just moved on and the younger ones step up. That's really what this development squad should be about.

Re: AUFC 2016 NPL Season
Plus the fact that many if not all NPL clubs have their squads set already. Calling on players to turn their back on their club and come try out for AU is a pretty poor move as well.
Does the club really want players that show that little loyalty?

Again assuming most of the players to try out would be younger and only playing small amounts in the ressies, or first team at their clubs. Maybe they would welcome more game time. Re: AUFC 2016 NPL Season
What is going on?? Trials? Why not promote the Reserves if needed? Unless the trials are only for outstanding inclusions.
Also Valkanis seems to be moving full time to the assistant gig with the first team. Does that confirm that Pau Marti might be on his way out to join Josep in "New York"?
So much speculation though...
